I was referring to Paul's Boutique. I don't much like Licence to Ill. I think it's pretty immature compared to Paul's. My second favorite of theirs would be Check Your Head, which is still not that great. Not a fan of Ill Communication or To the Five Boroughs, the latter of which I think is a totally irrelevant album.

Yeah, I seem to be one of the few people that put To the 5 Burroughs on the same level as their other albums, but I really feel it was there most passionate. I almost posted Check Your Head instead of it though. I agree that Licence To Ill was immature, but that's what they were going for, and did it very well. Probably one of the catchiest albums of all time. As for Ill Communication, I just think Sabotage, Get It Together, and Alright Hear This are some of their overall best songs.

I say yes simply because their songs made such an impression on me that I can recite too many of them word for word and I haven't listened to a beastie boy album in years.

I had a copy of License to Ill which I actually found on a bike trail on my way home once... took it home and listened to it... it was God awful to my teenage ears that admittedly preferred anything hard rock at the time.

I think I actually incinerated that cassette...

Must have really .not liked it...

How old were you? If I were about 13 I probably would have beat you up had I found out you burned a Beastie Boys cassette. Or tried to beat you up anyway, I wasn't always successful

Buddy Holly was a major influence on rock and roll, being one of the first main artists to perform,write and produce, he also set the benchmark for your bog-standard rock band, this includes a bass, two guitars and someone on drums.

His music was fresh at the time and highly influential to upcoming artists at the time, whilst often being pure and simple and free from the bells and whistles that would soon follow within the rock and roll world.

Despite not being an obvious sex symbol like Elvis, today would call him geek-chic (blech), his music reached out to his fans and his clean cut image appealed to women all over.

Many big names of the 60's cite Buddy Holly as a huge influence on their own career and music, included are The Beatles who covered his stuff in their early years, The Rolling Stones, one of their first major hits was a cover of Not Fade Away, and Bob Dylan, who had seen Buddy play live just two days before his death.

Not many people had such a profound effect on a genre as Buddy did with Rock and Roll, and yet his career only lasted 18 months.
