An ironic comment coming from someone who hasn't provided any "proof" to back up his own claims. But I wouldn't expect any such links when we're talking about people as well known as The Beatles, Phil Spector and Buddy Holly. Who needs them? You can safely, and rightly, assume that I'm familiar enough with the Beatles catalog to not need links to their songs to discuss them. By the same token, I can assume that anyone who presents themselves as an authority on the popular music of the 50s and 60s is knowledgeable enough about legends like Buddy Holly and Phil Spector to talk about them intelligently, right?

I wouldn't refer to the crystals or the ronettes as rock. The wall of sound technique was developed in the early sixties, not long before the beatles, as you said. You've done nothing but say the beatles weren't the first, and they weren't, but I never claimed that.

This debate is becoming tiresome... and I'm not even in it.

All you're doing is backpedaling and modifying your arguments as each and every one of your points is ground away by people who actually have knowledge about this type of stuff. I think it's time you lay this argument to rest.

I would say they are about as much rock as "Eleanor Rigby" is.

Half a decade is a pretty long time in pop music. And it's funny how you just outright ignore my references to Buddy Holly, which would be music from the 50s.

Yes, Buddy Holly did it in the late fifties. My point was The Beatles were one of the first to add those instruments to rock n roll, thats a fact. Not the first, but one of the first. I havent modified my points. I never said they were the first. He proved that The Beatles werent the first to do it, and that never was my claim.

You asked him to prove that The Beatles weren't the first, which in essence showed you were skeptical and needed proof.

And that's not even considering all the other times you're points have been disproven in this thread.
