Bump, more votes? Pretty please? With cherries on top? I'll announce the winner later tonight and post the next battle.

I couldn't agree more. I am very much not a cars fan for this reason. The mixes are really thin, and they wear on my nervesZ

I like the Cars a lot and I think that's a decent cover, though maybe too similar to the original, but the Big Black one is just a better song.

well, the Breeders' cover starts off menancingly enough and i had high enough hopes for it, but in the end, it's just relying on the hem of the cloth of the original song, which was terrif, and it doesn't realy improve on it

whilst the Vanilla Fudge one is cool, transfiguring it into psychedelic blues-rock

Breeders - 0
Vanilla Fudge - 1

I liked the Vanilla Fudge as well, some tasty stuff that went from making me feel like I was on acid to some cool jams.

Breeders - 0
Vanilla Fudge - 2

I'm biased since Vanilla Fudge was one of my suggestions, but the Breeders' cover starts off cool, but it's totally faded away after the first minute. If it kept up the intensity of the opening seconds, it would have been pretty cool. And, I love the original 'Happiness' for putting in so many moods and ideas into a 2 1/2 minute song. If the Breeders had done a little more variety...

It still would have lost to Vanilla Fudge

Breeders- 0
Vanilla Fudge- 3

The Breeders' cover was a little boring in comparison to Vanilla Fudge. Although as its already been mentioned, the beginning of the song sounded promising.

The Sonics cover is pretty decent yet undeniably boring and uninspired.
Reatard took a song, made it ten times better than the original and actually made it interesting to listen it.
The Sonics tune can't hold a candle to Jay Reatards cover or any other Reatard song for that matter.

Sonics 0
Reatard 1
