So very helpless; bleak (in the strongest way out of all Joy Division songs)

This verse almost always does it for me:

I campaigned for nothing
I worked hard for this
I tried to get to you
You treat me like this


So straightforward, but speaks volumes...

i fail to get my head round the fact another human being can make me cry just through song lyrics, but i already know they can. The song i love but hate to listen to because it makes me shiver is

Lisa Gerrard -Now we are free.

I think its the one that makes me close to tears because its beatiful to listen to, and the fact that it uses made-up lyrics is part of its appeal. Instead of lyrics that may just be made up for the effect of creating a sad song which actually mean nothing to me personally.

although songs such as

Sage Francis -best of times

are real thought-provoking, just because i can relate.
