I liked the music arrangement, the bass in particular but the tone of the vocals sounded a bit too generic for my taste. 5/10

^^ Deerhoof started out sounding as though it might be intriguing. The vocals, though, or rather the voice, which I admit I could acquire a taste for much as I have got like Kate Bush, seems totally mismatched for this kind of song; it needs a punchier vocal, and probably a male vocal. I do have to give the song points for some interesting arrangements and chord progressions. 6/10.

And now for something completely different...

Those are some cheesy ass synths. The downtempo vocals are the best part of the song, sort of reminiscent of MBV. Overall though, the music is just kind of...meh. Probably not a bad song for people who are into that kind of thing though, which I am admittedly not. It's just too...cheery I want to say? 2/10

You better be happy I'm the one reviewing this track. Pretty good, compelling songwriting. A bit of a terrible performance, I'm sure with just a bit of extra effort, the song could really flourish, but whatever, I understand the feel Dawson is going for. 6/10

Here's a well-known band, less well-known song:

I was prepared for a worse review than that, don't worry. I heard Dawson's music described as played with a drunkard's confidence, and I think that's pretty fitting.

Pretty cool build up and I dug the electronic stuff going on at the end. Never been a huge fan of Yorke's vocals, though. 7/10

A repetitive farting noise that repeats throughout, mixed with random noises. It tries to go hard @ about 1:45 and build into something else, but I didn't end up buying it. The sax was the only interesting thing about it, and that gave it an extra 1/2 point, so 3.5/10.

It had a good built up in the intro but then the beat dropped to that dubstep sh*t where they just crammed as many effects as possible, at one point it had like an underwater effect for like 5 seconds for no *****n reason! there's an overlaying synth i like though, it's at the intro and it sounds like an 8 bit synth from a nintendo game. it comes back later in the song and that's about the only thing i liked from the song. 4/10

Minutemen strike again. Pretty much your basic Minutemen song, a bit of funk here,a bit of punk there. It all adds up to a sweet, but curt, whole. 7/10
