The backing chorus is cool, as it adds a sense seriousness, or a sense of darkness, that might not have existed outside of the lyrics. Although I didn't spend any time trying to make out the words in detail, I did pick up on the use of "cleverer," and that comes off as a bit of a stretch and/or gimmicky. Initially, I was going to give it a 3.78 because it's simply not my style, but since the group seemed to be putting in a good effort, I'm going with a 4.5/10.

Uh, I guess it's alright for what it is, but I was happy to leave Blink-182 behind in high school, and I don't like the thought that there might be a pop punk revival movement sneaking up behind me with a switchblade.

5/10

Raw and pretty bare-bones as far as the instrumentation goes. The hook is good, but the spoken section felt pretty out of place. The song has a good balance between the instrumental track and the vocal tracks so that one doesn't drown out the other. I thought I wasn't going to like it much when it first started playing, but it was pretty nice after all. 7/10

That was really good. i liked the atmospheric drums and vocals and once the rhythm got started the melody was dark and a little eerie but very fitting with the vibe of the song. 8/10

I'm a sucker for simple, repetitive, hypnotic rhythms, and that hit the spot nicely. And it hit you with several different rhythms throughout the song, keeping it fresh. Nice. 8/10

Cave In - The End of Our Rope Is a Noose

A synthy DX7 intro that unsuspectingly turns into NWOBHM (new wave of batlord heavy metal).

I'd say that you need to give some indication as to whether or not you actually liked it, but we both know you're too much of a wuss to like anything with real balls.

I liked the chord transition at the beginning and in the chorus but some transitions felt a bit too ambitious and i didn't particularly liked the guitar solo. i don't like Soundgarden that much but it's a decent song. 6/10

Sounds like more of a quickie. A bit empty, but it's not like it was trying to be anything else, so I won't be too hard on it.
