Why is it everytime someone starts a thread on an artist dying on this forum there's always one sanctimonious prick that has to bring up some other tragedy in some sad attempt at belittling those that have left messages of condolence as if those people are small minded and shallow for being slightly concerned that someone with some talent has died.

I know what happened in Norway, The whole world knows what happened in Norway.
You want to talk about it, then fuck off to the thread dedicated to it because it has nothing to do with this.

Bias doesn't come into it Benny Buthead.
It's a thread about the death of Amy Winehouse (just in case you haven't noticed).
Not about the tragedy in Norway, so it's hardly surprising really.
This very threads existence is in no way disrespecting the death of all those young people in Norway, either.
Unlike your clear disrespect for the death of Amy Winehouse.

Allow me to explain.
This is the 'Amy Winehouse pronounced dead', thread.
And this is the http://www.musicbanter.com/current-e...ks-norway.html thread...bye!

this.

Well said.

My comment was ignored by him.. As I said, people will feel more of a connection to the one they know and are familiar with. People here will feel more connected to Amy Winehouse because she created an impact in sombodies life through her art and music. But did the people who died in Norway have a connection to us or an influence in our life, we did not know them... we can still offer sympathy for the loss though and we can talk about it.. but it has no connection to us on a personal level unless you choose to make it personal or have personal connections to the people there.

It is okay to feel sympathy for the people in Norway, and it is fine to feel sympathy for Amy Winehouse.

He wasn't saying her death is as tragic. He was just saying they were both tragic in ways that are completely different and incomparable. And are you calling everybody who has expressed sadness at Amy Winehouse's death uneducated? Are we idiots because we choose not to make judgements based on tabloid gossip, which ultimately is the only real reference points we have in regards to her lifestyle.

The Norway massacre is absolutely tragic, it's a tragedy that affects the emotions of individuals differently to the death of a singer who's music was a part of many people's lives.

Comparing the two is ridiculous, and it makes you look stupid, which is ironic considering you're playing the whole 'I'm more intelligent than you' card.

Both events are a tragedy. I just think that the Norway event is more tragic. What is wrong or disrespectful about saying that? People show their lack of education on this thread by resorting to foul language and abuse towards me. It really doesn't look good.

The tabloid media just annoy me. It's news at its dumbed down, worse. Nothing more than sensationalised infotainment for the uneducated mass. The language in them could be understood by an eight year old child. Commercial imperative and making money is what counts though and this tends to sell more papers than hard foreign news stories or politics, economics... the lot. The broadsheets are for this.

The decline in foreign news is a disaster for Journalism. Amy Winehouse's death is going to be used to depict the dangers of drug taking now, as a celebrity there is no better filter of a message of this nature. Using celebrities to achieve this is dumbing down. I'm not a **** or a prick or whatever you want to call me, just a student studying JOURNALISM at Chester University.

okay, let it go. Nobody cares anymore. Move along.

What do you expect when you show a total lack of respect and then hide behind your divvy arrogance.
Congratulations, I don't think I've ever allowed myself to get this annoyed with a member before.
I'm done with you and this thread, which you've dirtied.
Dinlo gorja, I hope you always think you're right!!!
