i'm saying Poison is better than Dream Theater

and C.C. is better than Yngwie
Well that certainly makes me a "music geek" then.

eraserhead is probably too busy looking after that strange baby of his.

C.C is certainly better than Malmsteen, all these guitar virtuosos and their solo albums just bore me to tears.

Noooooo DT are way better than Poison.

I always thought that the definition for Music Geeks is fans that like bands like Poisen, Linkin Park, etc.

And Elitists have the right to look down upon others that like such horrific music.

I think I made my arguments on this one here.

Dream Theater and Yngwie are both great by the way.

funny thing is, i don't even listen to any of the acts Yngwie spawned, the only one I heard resembling him is Randy Rhoads

i listen to other kinds of shredders like Vai, Satriani and Johnson

as i've said earlier, i do kinda like "Rising Fore", but later material like "Eclipse" i got as a gift then i gave it away, the friend who gave me that cassette even gave me the tablature book and i learnt some of the solos, and yes i've studied the minutiae of his style and while it looks great on paper, it isn't particularly resonant to my ears and i have all but abandoned that style of playing

C.C. on the other hand, makes me wanna get drunk and score chicks

Randy died 2 years before Rising Force was even released... and the two don't sound similar at all...

I hate to say it but that might have been one of the worst songs you could have posted, because it validates everything that I previously thought about Malmsteen's compositions. The production on it was simply atrocious.

Black Star just demonstrates the lack of respect Yngwie has for subtlety in his music. He's so focused on the technical aspects of composition that he loses sight of the notion the overall sound is still aggravating to the music listener.

That was my immediate impression.
