He doesn't live there, he's just resting.

Yet another person who tries to start a discussion (as opposed to "List something" or "Help me with") is driven off the site. Not a great question, though, as I don't know how one could compare countries across the whole of music.

Anyway, I just want to point out that three popular (and, in my opinion, good) Canadian exports from the 80's haven't been mentioned: Saga, Loverboy, and Bryan Adams.

I liked/like Loverboy and Adams back in the day.

Why is a discussion about who can represent a certain country off topic?

Surely before you can say who the best is between Canada & USA you have to define which country an artist come from.

Exactly, so what's your problem?
What's wrong with expanding the original question & having some fun with it?

Yet another example of you complaining about something for which you are completely ignorant of the facts. Please stop.

I thought you were the one who wanted more music discussion to happen here, and here you are in a music thread complaining about it. You're an entertaining troll.

I am starved for good discussion, not trolling. People, on the other hand, are bullying. No, I don't know what happened to that guy - uh, tell us? - but there are trends and this site is slowly heading toward oblivion. Being friendlier to members who start try to start intelligent discussion would change things for the better. I could and would do better than this half-hearted topic (for example, exploring what Canadian exports do wrong), if I felt that my contributions wouldn't be derailed.

My only idea for improving this thread is to make it rock-specific, maybe Canadian prog vs. American prog, which really means a new thread.

Also, I just realized that Carly Rae Jepsen (with one of the biggest US pop hits in recent years) hasn't been cited.

I didn't bully you, I asked you 2 questions you didn't answer.

That doesn't make him an American. That just makes him a Texan.
