Theory: DOes every genre have a chance at an amazing album?

I am aware of how trashed on a lot of genres can be, like brostep, teen pop, trap, crunkcore, modern novelty songs, etc. But as a fan of brostep, I found Excision's Codename X and an experimental brostep album with modern classical/ambient undertones that was so strange but amazing because of it (Deconstructing Nature by Sakuraburst). Of course, that's from one fan's opinion. A better example would be the fanfare of Carly Rae Jespen's latest album, Emotion. It's said to be one of the best albums of the year, even by teen pop haters. I've seen a lot of comments about its greatness. So, I'm wondering. Does every genre, even crunkcore, trap, and all that, have a chance to show off a critically acclaimed album? Not just one that gets a bunch of sales, but one that the critics and music junkies love? Will we at some point find a trap, teen pop, crunkcore, etc. album rated as one of the greatest albums of all time?

I think so. I can't see why not. But usually, many people from these styles aren't very good musicians.

Well duh, there's no real question about it.

EDIT: Missed the critical acclaim part and was basing it off of thinking an album was amazing personally. It's likely, but I'd say that for a lot of genres it's going to be very difficult to gain that type of status. I couldn't imagine teenyboppers rocking Keiji Haino shirts.

Any non-muzak genre can be good, however infrequently.

Yeah

I think any genre of music can be done amazingly well except for silence which is of equal value by all performers except John Cage. Silence is also the only genre you get better at as time goes on after your death. Unless you're completely anihilated by a hydrogen bomb. I guess it also depends on when a corpse stops being you.

I like grindcore and was wondering something quite the opposite: Is it possible to make bad grindcore? Like if it were bad I would claim it wasn't really grindcore.

Well, I can';t wait for the day we get an amazing modern noverlty album from Crazy Frog. That's going to be a day in music history.

The first album was 5/10. Don't plan to listen to the others, especially after that horrid, horrid, HORRID, We Are the Champions cover.

And what the thread is asking is if it's possible for every genre to reach acclaim in both the public and the music nerd eye. For a lot of the more out there stuff, I don't see it happening, at least not currently, even if I may adore those records myself.

I guess for a style to be considered a unique genre in the first place it probably starts with someone's good idea that is then emulated and rehashed and generally exploited until it runs it's course popularity wise.

Hmm. Can't seem to think of any. Seeing as I loathe crunk and anything scene, I don't think it'll ever happen.

Crunkcore, like many of these micro-genres, seems like a decent concept at first but is always executed poorly. Same with Nintendocore and the like.

Of course...

If some mind-altering progressive crunkcore album came out in the near future that wipes the taste of previous acts out and provides greater artistic clarity; yeah I could see myself enjoying it. It'd have to be pretty revolutionary though.
