No commercials, no people talking to introduce music videos, no stupid tv shows, it was like how internet radio is now, except only music videos, and a phone number would flash on the screen during videos so you could call in and request your favorite music videos.

Though many years later, we all found out only certain music was allowed to be played, so they were dictating what people could listen to.

Thanks for the suggestion, I looked at them before, but I'll look them over again.

The main fall back to VEVO, is that they are ran by Google, and only play what they own, so they never play anything older than the last generation of music.

Last time I tried to search them to see what artists were listed under them, I couldn't really search at all.

Also, a few artists have rebelled against VEVO after signing with them, and have went back to releasing music and music videos on their own private youtube channels that are not VEVO channels.

So though people still watched MTV, it really was already dead and no longer what anyone wanted, because it no longer was playing all music videos like it was meant to do.
Hmm. This is in fact false.

I'll check that dictionary, but in the meantime I'm impressed - as is everyone else in the world - by your eloquence, obvious accomplishments and success, and the evidence of your blazingly high intelligence.

Does Music Television Still Exist?
Yes, but in the 21st century it is called YouTube.

Who gives a **** about music videos? Even the few that were good were still created for marketing purposes. Music has no need for them.

Need? Nah. They're a nice bonus though.

When artists upload their songs to youtube twice, once as just a song and again as an actual music video, the actual music videos get way more views. So people do enjoy music videos more.

However, new artists really have no platform to get people to watch their music videos.

At the moment, artists are joining record labels, and then the record labels are claiming ownership over their music videos, making them remove them from their private youtube channels so they can be re-uploaded to the record labels youtube channels. It is still highly unproductive though, as there are so many small record labels doing this, and simply being on a popular youtube channel does nothing when the music videos must be found and played individually and while finding the record label youtube channel is like finding a needle in a haystack.

WTF are you talking about? What's more epic than Dio wielding a sword in a music video? It's totally LotR. If you don't find this video awesome than screw you and your anti-capitalistic sentiment.

What!?

There are some great music videos still being produced to this day. The great marriage of visual and audio.

Tell me you don't give a **** about this masterpiece.
