Look at it this way: if the question is phrased thus -
How much does this genre suck on a scale of 1 to 5, where 1 is it doesn't suck at all and 5 is it sucks donkey balls, would you then understand it? Honestly, I didn't think anyone would have a problem with so basic a concept. Have you never filled in a questionnaire where you're asked to rate things on a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being highest and 1 being lowest?

The higher you vote, the more the genre sucks.

What's not to understand?
