Mother****er the whole thing of thinking that one band is a better band is a meritocracy. You just want someone else to join in and justify your meritocracy.

Great genre. I dunno why people think it killed prog though: bands emerged in the late 70's that absorbed influences from both sides of that coin. And then older prog bands subsequently morphed into AOR/Art Rock hybrids and took over the 80's.
