It's a trick question.

The correct answer is Richard Thompson covering Britney Spears...

Richard Thompson - Oops!... I Did It Again

Yeah no after all is said and fun "Smells Like Teen Spirit" is in fact raw as **** and embodies raw as **** hardcore punk in a controllable way that had never occurred to anybody before and might never have occurred after. After all these years it's hard to summon up the energy to care like honestly I really ****ing should but I definitly should summon up the energy to care more than I could for Baby One More Time.

Smells Like Teen Spirit over Baby One More Time by a mile.

It's funny how the target demographic lines can blur, especially over long periods of time after social barriers have been broken down.

Yeah but had you never heard Smells Like Teen Spirit then no matter when you heard it it would still have hit you in the ****ing face. I simply can't think of any other band coming about that would deaden the impact of Smells Like Teen Spirit. It is in fact a singular song, band, and effect.

You can talk all you want about the Pixies but no amount of the Pixies could prepare either you or the world at large for Smells like Teen Spirit.
