Accordion not in country music? Oh dear. You need to read my History of Country Music journal, SGR!

I'm quite confused and could use some clarity on this matter.
If you must know, the Word is a song off the album, guess what? Rubber Soul.

It's just some sort of cosmic signature I use basically. I think you're the first one to have even noticed it.

THE DONKEYS- RIDE THE BLACK WAVE

So, I guess this is what passes as Indie Rock these days. Don’t get me wrong; this isn’t a bad album, just something that doesn’t stand out for me. The first track, Sunny Daze, seems a little long, but the rest of the album is basically a piece of pleasant pop with some folk rock influences. Imperial Beach is an interesting raga instrumental, though again, nothing out of the ordinary. Ride the Black Wave is the closest thing I’ve seen as a standout track so far.

And maybe that’s it. There aren’t really that many standout tracks. Then again, there aren’t really any stinkers on here either. It’s just a pleasant piece of folk rock circa 2014. Wiki compared them to bands like Pavement and Crosby Stills and Nash, but I don’t see it. Nonetheless, while I wouldn’t attack someone with a chain saw for this album, it is a pleasant listen, especially Bahamas, which I also like a lot with the female (I think) vocals.

So, with that…

7/10 (The Word has spoken )

Hey now, like I said, it's somewhat of a musical blind spot for me! You got a link to your journal there Trolls?

Like a lot of metal, I have to be in right the mood for country. Thanks for the info Lisna.

I'm sure we all noticed it, rs. I like the tongue-in-cheek way you are telling us "This is the definitive rating", but I never worked out the connection to Rubber Soul the album. Very neat.

Trollheart, I hope you don't mind me asking if you could update your OP sometime, in the hope that it might give this album club a greater semblance of life.

I) Take off the "Hiatus" warning

II) Add these "Done and Dusted" albums to the list:
Tones Of Home: MarieMonday: 6 (#501)
Protection: SGR: 7.2 (#540)
Sackcloth And Ashes: Carpe Mortem: 8.6 (#572)

III) Put Mindfulness' nomination, which is now Linkin Park's Living Things

IV) Add my next nomination:

"From Spain To Spain" by Vox.

Spoiler for link for finding the album:
This album isn't very search friendly, because search terms "Vox" and "Spain" tend to drag the results away from the cd. I at last found it on YouTube and am posting the link here because I may have trouble tracking it down again:-

I know you're very busy on the forum, Trollheart and I hope I don't sound bossy - that's not my intention. I just want to, you know, give orders without looking too bossy about it.
