Any other bands similar to 1905? I'd love to get some more stuff like that

bardonodude 08-25-2009 07:10 PM

Dr.Seussicide 08-25-2009 07:19 PM

I've got some I'd set myself on fire for you, and i do enjoy them, but maybe i'm not listening hard enough, or I've a specific cd that is like this, but I seem to not hear vocals...like...at all

Thumbs up for reference to pg99 and Orchid :]
In Love With An Apparition is amazing.
A lot of people mix up different core band with screamo.
Like a lot of people at my school say bands like Escape The Fate, or Chelsea Grin, or maybe As Blood runs Black are screamo. I still listen to those bands, but I realize they are from a complete different scene.

Like Bert McCracken said: "I think screamo is dead, now its just used to put CDs up in a music store.".... or something along those lines.

"we would like to wish death upon those whom infiltrate the passion of punk rock in all its beautiful spirit and youth, by yucking up your trashy faces, bubbling a shit eating smile and pretending to care about what you think you are doing and calling it art, eventually all snakes shed their skin to reveal a brighter, more poisonous and ultimately a more intmidating side of themselves. we hope that you choke on your own deceptions in time, and you die nothing kess than the miserable and very lonely death you all deserve: as to save us all from your awfully unconvincing garbage."

-pg.99 doc 8 booklet

They could probably make a song out of that.

kimcarsons 08-25-2010 11:59 PM

too sum it up

It is truley depressing to see music you love put in so many genres a sub genres, it becomes a commodity , there is little to explain emotional hardcore one day in the mid 90's air. the word appeared out of thin air. fact is a young executive, miguel cervantes , coined the term screamo. he quickly started distribution and is pulling the stings from sao paulo,
