What do you guys think about them? Some of my friends like them a lot but I have not heard enough to voice a solid opinion yet...I'll probably listen to them more and give you an update in the next couple of days...

My postal service sucks, sometime they don't get the packages and stuff, I think they steal them..... just kidding i never heard them...

Come on guys, download or buy some stuff and give it a listen. I just want some opinions :(

I think they are phenomenal....one of the most original bands in quite a while.

Agreed on that, they just go with their own style and some people like it and others don't. But that's all fine, because they stick to their own roots.

i am in love with the postal service, i wasnt sure at first but after a few listens i realised that i was hearing something amazing, and the lyrics are great

They're a great band, I'm really feeling what I've heard.. definately going to have to pick up a CD soon.

I agree...I can't seem to get enough of "such great heights" (it's sad really,there's dancing involved)
The album is definitely worth a listen :)

Death Cab for Cutie is probably more preferred by me too, but I like them both.

Ben Gibbard is one amazingly talented man going from death cab for cutie to the postal service to his other sideproject..can't remember the name.... a very talented man...and on a personal note i love The Postal Service...it is lyracaly amazing. I'm interpratating Brand New Colony and Clark Gable as we speak for Literature and Composition project... I highly recomend give up and i jsut wish the Ben Man himself was not giveing the postal service a break. and i wish i was better at spelling...i type to fast.

Haha, don't worry about it. I agree, going through that many projects SUCCESSIVELY is the most amazing thing....many artists today have side projects, but you barely see any who are successive in all of them

these guys are great, I like death cab for cutie too. "the district sleeps tonight" and "greater heights" are my fav songs from the PS

The Postal Service are definatley an awesome group. "Such Great Heights" is an amazing song and a really cool video.. I'm convinced theres some type of symbolism or something in that vid.

Um if you ask me THE POSTAL SERVICE ROCKS! Most of my freinds like them.. well let me take that back all of my friends like them. But ya serisouly they are a really good band despite w.e ever anyone says!

I really like The Postal Service. I just wish that Ben had stayed with TPS rather then Death Cab for Cutie. I like Death Cab For Cutie, but I prefer TPS more.

Agreed, DCFC can be a little too mellow for me sometimes

Exactly. and with TPS I can tell the songs apart, a lot of DCFC's songs sound too much alike.

i cant stop listening to them. i mean they are so good. even though all my cheerleader (non-litterally) friends got a hold of them, along with my one friend who is all lame and listens to that 80's garbage and writes really horrible poetry about killing herself (it really does suck. i mean bad.) and wrote a (horrible) poem to the best song on the album (sleeping in) i still listen to them constantly they are so good.

PS: this is my 50th post! yay!

I really enjoy The Postal Service My Favorite is D.C. Sleeps alone Tonihgt I also really enjoy Death Cab for Cutie there Lead Singer is also the singer of The Postal Service. Did you know why the band is called postal Service because each of the band members lived in different parts of the us and to make there cd that mailed parts to each other and that is how they made their first cd.Cool Cool . Glad to see someone else likes them

yea i jsut heard about the postal service recently. they are different from what i usually listen to and i hated them at first. bbuutt they grew on me..alot. i think theyre an incredible band now. i just cant get nothing better out of my head...
they also got me listening to Death cab, another great band

for me sleeping in is the best :) so as such great heights.

I just got their Give Up cd and i love it!

My favourite song is "Sleeping in" but the whole album is great, it's one of those cds you can put on replay and not worry about having to get up and skip a song because they're all really good....

it's a cd worth paying for though because ALL the songs are awesome :hphones:

good band with a handful of good songs (i still havent gotten tired of clark gable and Nothing Better), even if I only like one Death Cab song.

they need to put out more sh*t soon.

im pretty sure you guys have heard of them, but i haven't seen anything on them, so what do you think? Their sounds make me happy :hphones: . i dont think you can be mad or sad or anything else but happy when you listen to their stuff!

I like all the songs... and no one has mentioned This Place is a Prison. That song reminds me of Brand New...

All the songs are super great... except Recycled Air is only good... it just has lame lyrics (lets talk about flying... yay!). But still a good song.

I'm probably gonna get lots of crap for saying that...

i like both death cab for cutie and postal service. they are really good for some reason, i usually wouldnt like this type of music.

I don't like DCFC, but I like PS alot. Many good songs. {btw, there is another thread on them in the Indie/Alternative forum.}

i do agree that their sound is nice but i must say alot of their lyrics are cheesy, like in we will become silhouettes, "And that's when we'll explode
(and it won't be a pretty sight)" i mean how cheesy. but they do have a pleasing sound.

TOOL/A PERFECT CIRCLE sound the same for the most part.. but tool is better.

DEATH CAB FOR CUTIE/THE POSTAL SERVICE sound the same..

gets sooooooooooooooooooooo annoying.. almost as much as myself..

....you know that postal service and death cab have the same lead singer right? MAYBE that's why they sound similar.....

yea that was my point.. hense the TOOL/and A Perfect Cirlce thing added in there too.
