I like Vampire Weekend for their ability to instantly put me in good spirits. I enjoy both albums but still have to decide if I like Contra better. I also doubt if I like the song “Giving up the Gun” because I saw the video first and found it a brilliant / bizarre mix of characters or because the actual song is good. One thing I am certain about is I like the band and glad they have done well for themselves.

Oh and I love how Ezra Koeling sings Louis Vuitton in “Cape Cod Kwassa Kwassa”, he sounds like a true Puerto Rican - respect.

Oh good, I keep forgetting to download their new album! Everyone says it was disappointing, I've started listening now....tobecontinued...

edit: What is wrong with the nay-sayers?! I like this album, experimenting new styles, still happy and upbeat, nice and quirky pop. Definitely some interesting lyrics in there too.

the new album is disappointing because it was just more of the same sound, with a few tracks that are just terrible. at least their first album felt sincere, the new album smells like money.

they started playing "Giving up the Gun" on the radio around here. Not what I expected from them, but left of center enough to hold my interest.
