I think the only good song off the new record is Cousins.

So yeah, Giving up the Gun sucks.

I actually liked the new album lots. I'd say Run is Vampire Weekends best song yet.

Music is as subjective as whether a soccerball goes into a net or not -- Even then there should be logic behind your disdain beyond 'it sucks'.

From what I've heard, the new album seems like recycling. Doubt I'll look into hearing the whole thing.

I think it sounds really hollow and lacks the energy they had on the last record. Of course unless Big3 was playing the devil's advocate he feels the opposite.

I really like the new album, personally. I will admit that I heard Cousins on the radio, and that's how I came about them. While I was out at a record store for an entirely different reason, I picked up their new album. Since then, I've also listened to the one that preceeds Contra. I can't decide which one I like better, but I don't think either of them are bad by any means.
On another note, is it just me or do they seem to enjoy Canada? Because everytime I look into going to a concert, they're in Canada...Which sucks.
