I hate the Dirty Projectors. Bitte Orca was garbage.

Really, why? It might be a tad overrated, but I find it quite appealing. It's off-kilter in a way that seems effortless, which is something that I think is really hard to do.

Listening to Bitte Orca right now. It's a tad schizophrenic, but not overly so. Really interesting stuff.

Went through 3 of the 5 EPs of their latest 5EPs before I had to go back to Rise above and Bitte Orca for some palette cleansing and to remember what made these guys so interesting, way back when. Now they seem to be going through some boring white soul phase. :/

P.s. Still can't really get into Rise above, but at least it's not boring.

This is one of the things that keeps me coming to MB: recommendations of great music I've never heard of. This Bitte Orca I'm listening to this morning is such a total, uplifting surprise! Many thanks, adidasss - for the thread, and for bumping it.

I like Bitte Orca a lot, I also just discovered them this year. Didn't really get into the other albums, apart from Rise Above and Swing Lo Magellan

Since I posted my post above from 6 years ago, have listened to Bitte Orca many times and grew to like it. The opening song always sounded like an Elvis Costello tune.

It's a unique album, and really the only thing they made that I love.
