I enjoy the "crappy production". It is lo-fi sounding for sure, and that is part of it's charm.

First album I heard by DJ though was "Bug", and I still llike it as well, this video is one of my faves, wish I would of caught then last time they were around these parts... next time for sure.

Could never really get into lo-fi but I suppose it does have its charm.

Dinosaur Jr. are one of the very few bands that have done the reunion thing right. They've released two very good albums, Beyond and Farm, and still kick ass live.

One of my favourite live clips ever though is their performance of 'Freak Scene' on the 1991: The Year Punk Broke film. Also note the difference in crowd reaction between the two clips.

Quite simply one of my favorite albums of all-time. It makes a statement, and it's such a cohesive piece. A truly unique bite of music...

The more I listen to this album the more I'm realizing that there's some really good tempo work on top of just being some good music. I'm really enjoying how I can listen to this album AS an album because it doesn't have any really weak tracks and each song is different enough to keep your interest, but at the same time it sounds like an album rather than a mix tape.

Can anyone recommend me other good albums from this band? I recently downloaded the discography and I'm wondering which is the best album to proceed with....

Agreed. Although, in terms of "flowing", I think Green Mind works exceptionally well. Their first 4 albums are still all amongst my favorites though.

You're right here. Someone from Pavement said that Malkmus doesn't have any desire to compose new songs for the band. We've seen a lot of bands to reunite but they solely play the old songs :(

Loving Little Furry Things at the moment. This record was somewhat of a grower for me. The first few times it was kind of boring, then I started liking it a bit, and now I full on love it.

This album rules!

It is my second favorite-ist DJ album (after 'where you been')

There really isn't a weak track on YLAOM and it is a total classic.
