Default Hi, kind of new member

I think I am a kind of new member as I don't remember it is in this forum or the other one that I was reported as a spammer even I did nothing wrong. However, I come back again. As a fan of Laure Shang, a Chinese female musician who just released her mostly English album "In". I would like to collect some feedback from here. I know as a Chinese pop singer, she will not be treated seriously. However, I believe good music speaks for itself.

I haven't heard of her, but if you recommend her, I'll give her a listen.
But, you were supposed to tell us a little about yourself lol.

Regardless, welcome back.

Let me give a brief background about me. I am an mechanical engineer working on developing new compressors. I became a fan of Laure when she attended the "Super girl" contest, aka a Chinese version of "American Idol" in 2006. She won the Champion title of that contest even though she was lost twice in the regional contest before she managed to win a second place in the last regional contest and advanced into the national contest.

She was a new graduate as a French major from a prestigious university of Shanghai, China when she attended the 2006 Super girl contest. She was a total amateur singer at that time and don't have a hot look to. That's why she lost twice in the regional contests.

However, her beautiful voice and singing talent was recognized by the judges at the last regional contest and she won the second place to have a ticket into the national contest.

In national contest, she was mistreated by the judges as they did not think her has a future as a singer but the viewer before the TV voted for her and the money talks. Unlike American Idol, in Chinese supergirl contest, it costs to vote and the money goes to the TV channel that hosts such a contest.

And, you wonder why you were reported for spamming?

Glad I have a listener. I don't know exact the reason. I was trying to recommend a new song made by Laure Shang that time. And someone just dismissed her saying something like no good music coming from China. I don't agree with his opinion and he must reported me as a spammer.

I still can not post links here. But I would suggest you search "Love Warrior" and "Laure Shang" on youtube and you can hear the song I tried to recommend last time.

Now, she just published a new album with most of the songs composed and written by herself. Five of songs are in English. One is in French. I did mention that she was a French major before.

Before Yaoming, nobody think someone from China can play basketball. I believe that Laure Shang will become famous globally as her musical talent is just taped. I have no intention to promote her here as that is her Label company's job. But I do curious on the feedback of western people on her songs especially those written in English.

Can someone tell me why my post number count is still zero? Does that means that whatever posts I put on this board does not count?

Advertising and promotion is absolutely against Music Banter's rules, so if you'd like to stay, I would advise you take that to heart, get to know the rules, and then get to know the members. You're treading thin ice at the moment, but welcome.

huh? I said I din't think much of her, I din't report you or anything

i said i prefer stuff like Tat Lau Yee Tat, as far as Chinese music's concerned

and when you posted her youtube, i said it sounded pretty much like Faye Wong during her "Di Dar" era

Now, I remember, it must be you that reported me last time. I only remembered that you mentioned some name like "Huang Yi Da". And said that if the song was produced by him. You might want to listen. I tried to reply that the producer of that song is a much famous musician and pianoist than "Huang Yi Da" and I found that I can not posted anymore. You mentioned Faye Wong. Acutally she recommended "Love Warrior"'s Cantonese version "Asura" recently on her sina weibo, aka, a Chinese version of twitter as twitter is blocked in China.

OK, my mistake. you said that it was not you that reported me. Sorry for not reading your post more carefully. I don't know what you mean by "Tat Lau Yee Tat". However, her new albume should not be count as Chinese music anymore as only one song is in Mandarin and five songs in English one song in French. She just sung for the "One Young World" summit meeting 2011 in Zurich, Switzerland last night to more than thousand young leaders around world. Among the four songs, there is "Love Warrior", an English song and "La Muse de La Nuit", a French song. Both was composed and written by her.
