Yeah, I did. Or at least I thought so. Must have been in the conversation with that person who got deleted.. o_O

My favorites-

The Beatles, The Who, The Velvet Underground, The Doors, Chicago, Pink Floyd, The Moody Blues, Stone Roses, Smashing Pumpkins, Blur, Pavement, Oasis, My Bloody Valentine, Radiohead, BRMC, Yuck

...yeah I guess I have a pretty random taste in music.

Welcome to MB, Kelli! Cincinnati, eh? My sister and her husband both work in Cincy, and live in that area. Fairfield, actually.

Very cool that you play piano; I'm complete rubbish at it, although I've tried. I do play acoustic guitar (poorly, but better than I play piano) though. It's quite rewarding. I think that you'll enjoy it!

Our genre tastes also overlap a bit, so I'm going to say that sounds like pretty solid musical taste.

Ew. There was just an unknown long piece of hair (my hair is quite short) hanging on my head in front of my eye. Anyways, welcome aboard.

Hey, I know you! Yeah about independent publishing - I think the one you're talking about through Amazon is Createspace. That's what I used to self-publish my first book and am pretty happy with how it turned out. I mean yeah, I'd love to have my stuff published 'for real' but for now I feel like this is the best place to start. You also get the option for people to download it on Kindle (like you said) & you can actually make a decent percentage of the profits that way.

What kinda stuff do you write?
You are already published???? I am SOOOOO jealous! Let me know what the e-book is and I'll buy a copy!

I am trying to dip my feet in several genres right now; a little bit of horror, sci-fi, comedy, poetry.

I'll give away the plot to one of my stories that's about ready to go. A spec-ops agent, named Jack, is a very bad man who does bad things for the government. He is privy to all the latest tactics and technology. He cold and ruthless and very skilled. Well he underestimates a target and is killed. When he dies he goes to hell for a few seconds. He sees that the realm he is in reacts to his thoughts and fears. The environment changes based on his own thoughts, his personal hell as they say. He is attacked by demons and he fights back vainly. He's holding onto a piece of the demon's tattered clothing when he is revived. Instead of being terrified and doing the right thing which is turning his life around he decides to turn this piece of cloth over to his superiors to develop technology to open a portal to hell and weapons that will work in hell. The rough title right now is INVASION: Hell. It's a romantic comedy....no, no it's murder mystery....ok you got me, it's horror based.

I did this story just to have something in horror, I'm not a devil worshipper or anything like that. I like how it turned out though, some scurry shiet in there.

Also I like poetry and I have a collection that I would like to self-publish but I have no idea how many poems you need to make a sizeable collection?

I'll share one with you that made an ex cry...I didn't think it was THAT good but it really got to her for some reason....

paths that never meet
Winding winding winding
at times so close
but destined never to meet

There is a path made for you
And one made for me

Around and over and back and still
winding through the trees
and winding through the hills

Two seperate lives
going their seperate ways

Sharing only memories
If only for today

I think our paths meet
on the road up ahead
But they are once again
diverging instead

Maybe this is all we'll ever be
two seperate paths
that never quite meet

...well there's some of my writing...critique me harshly!
And let me know what work of yours I can view such as that e-book!

Hey, sounds interesting! Have you written any of it yet? Looks like it could be a really great story & I'd love to read any of it! I've never written anything horror-based but I've always liked to pick up a Stephen King book every now and then, haha. Let me know if this gets anywhere! (:

As far as poem collections go, I think you could base it on how long they are. Some are short, like yours here, but I've read others that are pages and pages long. It just depends what you put into it and what you want readers get out of it. & that's a nice little poem you have there. A lot of it seems hopeful that the paths will cross - but then the ending kind of loses that feeling. Glad you used the word 'maybe' for the ending though. I love 'maybe' in endings because it's a bit like leaving things open to anything that can happen and everything that can't without thinking you know for sure one way or the other.

Haha anyways. My book is just kinda...general fiction. It was a 3 book trilogy I just combined as one, so that's why it seems a bit long. But it isn't boring! Here's a link if you wanna see what it's about:
The Lightning Wars: Kay Rylan: 9781478359289: Amazon.com: Books
I actually just got a new bank account a few days ago so I have yet to connect it to my Createspace account on Kindle.. Which basically means I'm a lazy procrastinator and you can't download it right now. But this reminded me to do it so I'll let you know when it's back up within the next few days if you want to download it. (:

^^ Look forward to it

I could send you what I have on invasion:hell but its not complete.

My writing process is to quickly jot down the scenes as they come to me and build the plot/story around it.

So it's a bunch of scenes that I've been placing.

I love the idea of your story, but the title is terrible. Let me think about some alternatives, if you want. Also I'd change the protagonist's name: Jack at this point, especially as an action-hero, has for me too many connotations with Jack Bauer, and you don't want to be seen as "24 in Hell" or anything.

Other than that, sounds pretty cool. New idea, could see a movie deal...

Ooh! OOOH! What about Dante?? Maybe with a really ordinary surname, like Dante Jones or something? I'd suggest "Behind/beneath enemy lines", but that's been overused. I'll continue to think...

Just thought of this now, then I'll leave you alone.

"Project: Hellstorm" (Cause he's storming Hell, see?)

Okay okay! I'm going....
