Agree on the love for George! Re:ribbons the lyrics to Girl make me laugh actually but the music is the main attraction of course. My favourite Rubber Soul track has always been In My Life

Hey Marie - I always thought there was a bouzouki on "Girl", then learned there is no bouzouki at all. It's the genius of George that he put a capo way up on the guitar neck to get that piercing bouzouki sound.

As for "In My Life" - can never listen to that without getting choked up.

"Nowhere Man" is amazing, with great some background vocals by Paul and George. I like "Girl" musically but not so much thematically - John groveling to some femme fatale, lol.



I definitely see what you see in Let It Be. E.g., “Don’t Let Me Down” is one of my favorite songs of all time, even though the Get Back documentary wore me out of it for hours on end.

I actually like Run For Your Life though I admit the lyrics were something of a turn off as well as a total ripoff from another song. And you can tell by Lennon's lyrics in general (Norwegian Wood notably) that he wasn't the most faithful of husbands.


Yeah, Let It Be is a good album though a bit disappointing by Beatle standards. Don't Let Me Down is definitely the best track from those sessions.

Yes, a lyric ripped off from Elvis's "Baby Let's Play House". Lennon was such a huge fan that it seemed he mentioned Elvis repeatedly in interviews throughout his life.

I'm not a big Elvis fan but I do love this song!
