I agree that Johnny has contributed more but only b/c Stevie went out like a proper Rock God, in a ball of furious flame. If he was still around I think he would have racked up quite an impressive body of work. Even though it's more commercial.. I do enjoy the Vaughan Bros. CD a lot. Texas Blues is like a whole Universe unto itself.

I think this would be a good weekend for you to get out of the house a little and relax.

he just has alot more soul in his playing.
How do you judge that? These 'vs.' threads are fun, but they're not a proper measure of anything. *sigh* oh well, Johnny, better luck next time.

peace,

It only takes one jerk to prove any hypothesis absolutely false. Like, have you ever heard the rumor that you can drop cash on the street in Tokyo and the people are so honest that someone will find it, pick it up, and take it to the cops? Well, that's absolutely 100% not true, because I once found a plain envelope on the ground with "6,000 yen" written on it. Inside was 6,000 yen. I put it in my pocket and kept walking.

johnny is def. underrated, imo.

i still like srv better for a lot of reasons but it's kind of like debating if stevie wonder or marvin g.aye had more soul. they both did their thing in a totally unique way which was why they ruled so hard.

too bad marvin and stevie ray aren't around to see what's going on now.

SRV. Like everyone else seems to be saying: SRV had that almost-ineffable thing called soul in his playing.

It's very hard for me to choose between these two blocks of cheese. I think I'll go with the white cheddar because at least his brother recorded one good song once.
