The moon has existed for millions of years (that's when it formed through gravitational forces or fragmenting from a larger lump of rock or whatever), but to the observer on earth, it disappears every month and is replaced by the 'new moon'. So its both millions of years old and less than a month old simultaneously.

The moon is never in the sky for more than a month. It gets "born" again every 28 days or so.
