They are called theories.

Electricity is a theoretical construct involving electrons which are tiny units of charged mass that no one has ever seen. They are theories. The idea that the earth orbits the sun, is a theory. Relativity, is a theory. You, however know nothing about science.

I would say he knows little about anything if he thinks the bible is fact.

Saying that God doesn't exist is no better or worse than saying that God does exist.

How do you work that out?

Neither can be actually proven.

I'm not even going to bother reading this. But I know someone is going to call someone stupid (if they haven't yet). So, I'm just subscribing and waiting for it...yes that is it.

Barnard17 06-04-2006 08:48 PM

I don't think it's been done yet, so I'll speed things up.

AITA's stoopid :)

mosesandtherubberducky 06-04-2006 08:51 PM

^:( but it doesn't have the emotion of an Bungalow stupid. Or a noob stupid. I'm waiting for a passionate stupid, not a stoopid. Sorry fal but thanks for trying.

This is what we call overly PC.

Theory is more or less a word for those who like to sit on the fence and ignore probable reason.

It has been proven that magnetism of the planet creates a pull towards the centre of the earth. So when planes fall out of the sky, and people say "oh well it might not be gravity, it might have been a big blast of wind", you know they're a little queer.

If you wanna be fancy, sure everything is theory, but it's ignorance to sit on the sideline and say "that may not be the case" when there is probable reason favouring the event in discussion.

I'd just like to say, that hiu says.

"People should actually read the bible before passing judgement on it, same for religion and other religions in general. I'm neutral on weither it is right or not but it is the greatest book ever made. Have respect."

Yeah, I agree, to an extent. Saying that particular things (such as gravity) are 'just theories' can be rather ridiculous.
