kim jong-ill has proven to be an unstable leader (to say the least) in the past. id say that north korea eventually launching a nuke towards a west coast US city is a plausible threat. his public parading of their successful nuclear test is just begging for international criticism. and such criticism (in his eyes) may warrant an attack. and dont let china's "concern" fool you. even if north korea has no nukes (which they most definitely do), im 100% sure that china would be willing to lend them one. china, north korea, and russia (IMO) are all in this together. does anyone wonder where north korea got their un-enriched uranium from?

A big difference is the UK and the US don't produce weapons at the expense of the entire nation. And also, although it may not invade other countries, under Kim Jong Il they've slowly destroyed their own country and people. Apart from Kims fortress, everyone else is going through mass famine.

btw US and UK arent producing nuclear weapons. thats against UN regulations. weve just got them b/c we already had them in stockpile. north korea is actively enriching uranium and constructing nukes in defiance of the UN and all of its members. definitely a BIG difference.

Oh well, I get pretty personal about politics, as anyone one from DDD would know... I'll leave this to Oojay, he's already made a better point than I have and with fewer words.

today some initail tests revealed that there was no nuclear fallout over north korea. so this begs the question of whether or not the bomb they deonated was actually nuclear. im very interested in seeing how this story develops.

MoonlitSunshine 10-13-2006 10:41 AM

yeah, everyone seemed pretty certain it was a nuclear warhead. Was this just speculation then? Oh, wait, yes I remember this now, they based their argument on the size of the explosion, but it would have had to have been one huge amount of explosives to emulate such an explosion.

or maybe they based their speculation on..um...north korea saying they detonated a nuke? and the explosion was large enough to register over an 8 on the richter scale.
