its not like Pelosi is the only person in America, republican or democrat, that wantes to raises the minimum wage (despite what she may tell you:laughing: )

I think we should have staggered minimum wage like the UK. Where the older you are the more you have to be paid.

i dont know about that. if a 30 year old has a wife, 3 kids, and a mortgage he should be making more than a 70 year old that lives alone with her cats. he would have to just to survive.

swim 11-09-2006 10:17 PM

No. Under 18 would make a certain amount. 18-21 makes a certain slightly higher amount and 21 and higher makes a slightly higher amount. That's how it works in the UK. I think we should just impliment an over 18 and under 18 system.

tdoc210 11-09-2006 10:19 PM

thats *** and retarded
**** that bull****

swim 11-09-2006 10:19 PM

Gee you're smart.

tdoc210 11-09-2006 10:24 PM

ok, just because you are older doe not mean you should make more.
infact there should not even be a monetary unit.
bartering is betetr than giving *** ass aper for soemthing that you don't really need

nah, it would be seen as discrimination. besides it is kinda like that already, considering minors (under 18) are limited on how many hours they are lagelly allowed to work per week.

dont need money? what city do you live in?

tdoc210 11-09-2006 10:25 PM

no no no, i said itd be better if we didnt have to use a monetary unit
of cours ei need money, i have habits to support

swim 11-09-2006 10:27 PM

Well some 16 year old who's only working for some nice sneakers and gas money shouldn't make as much as a 20 year old who's parent's never encouraged them to get a good education, has two kids to feed. To me that's common sense. I think under 18 minimum wage should stay where it is and over 18 should be raised. That's fair. Under 18 isn't really getting jipped because nothing's being taken away.

its not common sense if they are doing the same bloody job

child labor laws are enforced to protect the well being of children and give them on less excuse for why they're missing shcool.

I personally think people should get paid for the work they do. if a 21 year old dropped out of high school, has two kids, and is working at wal mart, i expect that i as a 17 year old i should make more money than he does if i do a better job.

The best form of government would probably be either an oligarchy or a dictatorship.

swim 11-09-2006 10:40 PM

Nothing says happiness like totalitarianship.

Tom Vilsak just officially announced that he will be running for president in '08.

(I'm counting on Hilary to run, win, and then divorce bill)

[MERIT] 12-01-2006 09:52 PM

Who is Tom Vilsak again?

Raine 12-01-2006 09:56 PM

he was born in pa an orphan and he is the governor of iowa.

[MERIT] 12-01-2006 09:59 PM

not to my knowledge.
I just found out about this in gov and politics.

But i do know that he's a democrat. No republican would announce that they're running for president so soon.
besides it's not like republicans have a shot at the white house

RHYMEFESTkillah 12-02-2006 02:22 PM

Our next president will be a democrat, thank f*cking god.
We need to keep christian conservatives out of our government.

tdoc210 12-02-2006 03:02 PM

^ yeah, but..i think we need a new type of party

[MERIT] 12-03-2006 06:53 PM

Democratic Congressman Keith Ellison of Minnesota, the first Muslim elected to the United States Congress, has announced that he will not take his oath of office on the Bible, but on the bible of Islam, the Koran. What are everyone's thoughts on this?
