Im not aware of why everyone hates Hillary, but as someone who spends his days watching politics, it doesn't matter. Shes dead in the water with the amazing amount of stuff they put out there against her. This is before a presidential attempt.

So her chances are slim I'd say. but there is/was nothing great about this republican administration. Its fine if you support conservative ideals but don't support anything that looks like an elephant.

And for every person whos going to mention someones name and follow it with "and so everythings going to suck", please explain why that person is the harbinger of the apocalypse. Do you even know anything about Nancy Pilosi and if so, I wanna know where you've heard it. Becuase I listen to conservative talk radio and their lying a good portion of the time when it comes to what politicians ahve done.

2008 will see (IMO) the Republican running John McCain w/Santorum or possibly Gulianni as VP, and Democrats running Joseph Lieberman w/Obama, Casey, or possibly Clinton as VP.

stevemallory 11-09-2006 02:33 PM

politics, man. now there's something to rant about. word.

Casey and Santorum don't have a shot at winning.
Santorum couldn't even get PA to vote him back into office. He's not gonna get the nationt o vote him intot he white house.
Casey only got the vote for senate because it was eithe rhim or Santorum. he's the default person. He doesn't have a shot at winning. though if he did run, at least we know we'd some some pretty violent, viscious ads.

Obama doesn't have a shot because Hilary is more popular than he is and he isn't capable of beating out the top contenders.

Gulianni has a shot. He'll deifnitely get the New York Vote. I imagine it'll be a grudge match between him and Hilary.

McCain and Lieberman . . . .

Lieberman has a better chance than McCain. This is purely based ont he opinion of a lot of Pennsylvanians.

I see Hilary, Guilianni, and Lieberman getting the majority of the votes.

if condy ran she would unquestionabky get Bush's support just on the basis of her political party alone, not to mention the fact that they are good personal friends.

I just don't like the idea that she took the job colin powell resigned from because he had the sense to know something was amiss.

I just don't like the fact that she's good friends with bush. She doesn't have to screw up anything.

Well, somebody had to fill the position. We cant have a vacant Secretary of State. And how does Condoleeza Rice being good friends with Bush (her boss) hurt anything? If anything its a good thing.

McCain is going to run? Fo Serious? I'd take him over any of those democrats and I'm a hardcore liberal.

this is just my prediction. it may be hilarious b/c Lieberman (democrat) has tons of republican support and McCain (republican) has tons of democratic support.

swim 11-09-2006 07:02 PM

Liberman won't get the democrat nomination because not only does he have republican support but democrat dissaproval. He might run independent which would be very interesting.

[MERIT] 11-09-2006 07:55 PM

republicans basically have no other major players than McCain/Gulianni. Democrats have an open field with Clinton, Lieberman, Obama, Casey, Kerry, Edwards, Gore, and of course the fringe groups swith Sharpton, Jackson, etc. (not to imply that African Americans are a fringe group).

Raine 11-09-2006 09:23 PM

I don't know why we're racking our brains trying to figure out who the next president might be.
we all know it won't be a republican so the list of candidates just narrows.

tdoc210 11-09-2006 09:27 PM

ill vote for the one who is anti war, pro mary jane, pro un banning cigs, and pro life. thank you goodbye, oh and no women =/ down with the 19th

swim 11-09-2006 09:28 PM

Nah. It could be republican. It just won't be anyone like Bush. I'm serious McCain's got some serious cred with everyone and a head on his shoulders.

yeah, as long as McCain doesnt push the "Im a war veteran" down our throats every 5 seconds like Kerry did, he'll definitely atleast get the Republican nomination.

/tangent

I hate the electoral college and I hope we switch to popular vote before I die. It's bullshit that if you're of the opposite strong party in your state that your vote doesn't count and if you live in say Indiana and 4 million people voted and in Michigan only 3 million people voted that their vote is worth more than yours.

I invoke my right to free speech which will almost always hold up in any court of law i the us.

Furthermore, I'd like to say that because of Bush the ranks and number of military personnel have been decimated. Taxes have gone up steadily in the 6 years 9so far) that he's been in office, and to quote a stand up comic, i paid less for gas when bill (clinton) was getting some ass.

glad to hear that you get your political info from a stand-up comic. and taxes have actually gone down since Bush's presidency (via his tax cuts).

You couldn't tell me bush cut taxes by looking at my wallet at the end of the day.

although nancy pelosi wants to raise the federal tax to 7.15 so maybe with her as speaker of the house, i won't notice the 'tax cuts' or feela s though i'm being taxed so heavily.

I may have gotten a quote from a stand up comic, but you didn't argue with it so there's some truth to it.
