There`s nothing selfish about asking because there is no guarantee that the other person would say yes to it.

I`d look at it like this , what would not asking gain?

If I was facing losing someone then I wouldn`t really have much to lose by suggesting what you say.

At least that way i`d have a straight answer & be able to move on with my life.

well my parents for one thing
they dont like me dating at this age since im "only 17"
which is why waiting till im 18 would solve so many problems!
i can do whatever the hell i want & get out from my mothers thumb

Man, I would hate that. As far as I'm aware my mum doesn't care what I do as long as I'm sensible about it. And I agree with Urban, you won't lose anything by asking. If you really have to wait, well, you'd be better off finding out now if he will wait too.

ok phew
i seriously thought i was gonna be a total bitch if i asked him to hold out & wait for me
technically right now were "on a break" because were both majorly stressed out & just needed some space which is why i have doubts about what his answer would actually be
& hes one of those guys that has high expectations & doesnt even really believe that i care about him for the sole fact that we rarely (never is a better word) see each other
so i jsut think if it comes down to him waiting another year & a half till i get my butt outta here or if something happens where our communication is cut off, hes just gonna say screw it & not even bother
& i wouldnt blame him

You`re doing the typical girl thing & making excuses for him before you even have an answer out of him.

If things are as bad as you say they are a straight answer will either put your mind at rest or end it once & for all.

Unless of course you are one of these girls that prolong these sort of situations to get as much drama out of it as possible (i work with a girl who`s been off & on with her boyfriend for about 2 years & hearing her whine about it is getting real old now).

So yeah , suck up your pride & get an answer.

oh goodness no, id rather not prolong anything or procrastinate things, especially with this kind of subject matter
