How can you not like mashed potatoes? It's like the least offensive food ever and it's texture and what you can do with it is magic. Every time I realize that a food tastes good when covered in mashed potatoes and gravy I feel like I've discovered some ancient secret.

Agreed. No mashed potato means no cottage pie as well. He has really let himself down here.

This is the reason NOT to like it. Being the least offensive aka bland with that baby food texture is just beyond gross. I can't deal with mashed potatoes. I always refuse it whenever I end up at a Thanksgiving bash.

Also just cos something isn't blazing with a thousand scotch bonnets doesn't make it bland or boring.

Have you never had lumpy mashed potatoes with red potato skins? You can make mashed potatoes as baby food-like as you want, or not.
