I think certain video games can be compared to sports if we want to use the actual definition and not the flawed google definitions.

The reason I posted that was to show you that the thread dedicated to the subject had been locked because the topic was run into the ground ad nauseum and it just got boring and tedious. At the very least peruse that thread so you can make jokes we haven't heard before. It's a good troll when done correctly.

And she used the flawed Google definition. Dear people, when looking up the definition of words do NOT just google it and use the one Google offers. Those are always flawed. Use one from a reputable source like those of established dictionary companies.

I think it's fascism that when you look it up Google says it's a right leaning philosophy when in it's not. That's liberal propaganda trying to manipulate how we think. Just like from that great Lupe Fiasco song where the guy explains how words are used to control the subconscious.

i think you're actually confused by the difference between the two. athletics consists of any sort of physical activity, including exercises and games. i.e a game of tag and hitting the weight room could be referred to as athletics.

esports are their own distinction. YD made a good post in regards to it in one of the last pages of the thread Batlord posted. it's unique.

i don't necessarily disagree with you but that's a bad analogy. there have been a ton of great basketball players shorter than you and i but there hasn't been and probably could never be a pro gamer without those natural skills.
