People, seriously, if you have older relatives who are still alive, spend as much time with them as you can.
Sorry to hear that, man.
I sorta know the feeling of not having spent enough time. I only have a grandmom left. One granddad passed before I was born, another when I was a child, and a grandmom when I was in the Army. I can't imagine how it feels to have had more of a connection with those people in your life and to lose them, but at least you had that connection from which many great memories came that you'll have with you.

Hope you're doing ok.

Very sorry for the loss of your grandfather. It sounds like he was a very colorful and kind man. My condolences to you and your family.

I apparently did something to piss people off. Went to a friend's birthday shindig, and my ex's best friend was there; I had no idea she would be.

I didn't say anything to her, but I didn't go out to avoid her or anything. I was a little more quiet and uncomfortable than usual, but I thought it was understandable...because I was wildly uncomfortable.

Being pissed because people are pissed at me is pretty unreasonable, but I think I was completely reasonable in not, say, causing a scene or leaving immediately. My fight or flight reflex definitely kicked in when the girl gave me a pissy look and immediately pulled out her phone and started texting furiously.

Son of a f*cking f*ck. While I was eating dinner, I broke a top wisdom tooth (which had admittedly been in a state of disrepair seeing as how I both can't reach it well with floss, nor can I afford to get teeth pulled at a dentist) and, now when it's time to go to bed, and the alcohol wore off, it's excruciatingly painful. Apparently there's just a sh*tload of nerve endings dangling about, because as I'm laying there, it's getting more and more painful.

Since I'm allergic to NSAIDs, and naturally, that's the only thing I have in the house, I down 2 of them along with some Benadryl to keep the allergic reaction at bay. 45 minutes later, there's only minor relief. Not to mention that when I take Benadryl, I get restless-legs and feel like I need to kick something or run around constantly, so sleep is out of the question either way.

Thankfully, I had 2 pints of beer left, so now I'm sitting here just enjoying the minor relief that comes with sitting upright, and the almost morphine-like effect the alcohol has on the pain, knowing full well I'll regret the loss of sleep tomorrow when I'm at school, plus the lack of alcohol's dulling of the edges of this ridiculous tooth pain.

If there is one pain I absolutely can't stand, it's tooth pain. Because the nerve endings are never just painfully localized in the root area of one specific tooth, but decide to be ass holes and affect the entire neighborhood by yelling "hey everyone, wake up, I hurt!!! Join me in my misery, fellow nerves!!".

I was definitely in your boat before...I no longer have health insurance, and a filling fell out last year. Nerve endings were sent into a state of panic and furious pain, the likes of which I had never fathomed.

I found that the best thing was swishing cold saltwater - hurts at first, then calms it down; swishing mouthwash - again, hurts at first, but numbs it somewhat; stuffing kleenex in my jaw - doesn't really hurt, but is just unpleasant; or laying the afflicted side of my mouth against my acoustic guitar's body while playing the open E string over and over again.

I've gargled to no avail. It's not helping. I feel at this point the only thing that can help is if someone punched me in the jaw repeatedly and did not stop until I lose sensation from the neck up. I wish I had some ambesol or whatever, because I would totally douse a rag in it and just lay there and chew.

I know there is one thing that would help. Some good ol' Watsons... lol... But as it were, I totally don't have any.

That sucks, man.

But, in my experience, Anbesol helped nothing, really. The surface was numb, but that only made the throbbing deep down in the roots more evident.
