I consider it to be complete rubbish.
Astrology has got to be one of the few things religion and science actually agree on.

that's fine, i'm just curious as to why you think it's rubbish? what's the original intent of astrology that you're dismissing as rubbish? is it like wayfarer's belief that astrology is about predisposition and destiny? i suppose if you adhere to that view then i'd have to agree that it is rubbish. i chose to view it differently.

Yeah, it's the prediction of destiny that I have a problem with.
What annoys me the most are the 'astrologists' that peddle this nonsense.

like organized religion and mainstream media? televangelists, political 'consultants', the pope, etc.

if that's the only way astrology can be considered then i'd totally agree with you guys that it's rubbish.

i just find it interesting that there are common elements within astrological profiles that seem to correlate with certain aspects in the personalities of the people born within those specific periods. i've never read a profile that detailed me 100% but there have always been some common elements that i just can't deny that are specific to my sign. environmental factors in your upbringing will obviously alter your development and affect your personality as you mature.

like i said in an earlier post those who use astrology as a crutch to validate their behavior are usually just using it to cover their insecurities and inability to take ownership of themselves. i like using it as a source of information to better understand my subconscious behavior from a perspective that is neither rooted in science or religion, mind you it's not the only perspective i use to consider my psyche.

It wasn't an argument , just a suggestion there may be a small grain of truth in it.

yeah because berating people who have differing beliefs most definitely advances society....

Most astrological predictions are so incredibly vague and easily applicable it's ridiculous people put any faith in them. I'm going to call this complete crap that you're either into because you're incredibly naive or for shits and giggles until someone can give some scientific evidence proving there's a margin of truth into it. You'd think we'd have advanced as a society enough to quit blaming the stars for our problems, triumphs and personalities.

so no one else here has ever noticed weird behaviour on full moons? doesn't have to be completely off the wall insanity but i know my roommate's cat will meow and freak out a lot more often when it's that time of the month. the cat is also male so it's not 'that' time of the month.

i also have to point out how funny it is to me that the only people decrying astrology as bunk are also the only ones who associate it with predisposed behavior.
