I guess I was misinformed...I lived in Fishkill, New York and paid a grand for a very average 2 bedroom apartment 12 years ago...In Kansas I pay 400 a month for a nice house with 2 bedrooms...I make slightly less than 55 grand and live very well here where as a I struggled out there. I was under the impression that places like Kansas, Oklahoma, Arkansas and Missourri were much cheaper but I may be wrong...wouldn't be the first time.

Anyway, I think a postgrad qualification goes a long with civil engineering. But a BE graduate will have no trouble landing a good job IMO.

Dude the $55,000 is nothing compared to the $70,000 you make coming out with a masters. Plus my school is weird about it. Our undergrad program is a 5 1/2 year program, but it only takes 18 credit hours to get our masters.

When I got in three years ago it was like 88 or something. Not sure what it is now!

Why do I get the impression that if i'd walked into your shop i'd know you'd most likely be the most miserable bored looking unhelpful member of staff in there.
