i stand corrected

maybe God thought it's more fun having the humans to chase after prey

a girl who wants pursuit is more interesting than a girl who just takes you on just like that - if you want an analogy

edit :- at any rate, I don't see traditionally domicile animals for meat (pig, sheep and cows) running away or putting up much of a fight, they just stand there for slaughter

Cattle, sheep and pigs do tend to be less afraid than their wilder cousins (although many are still weary of people, there's just not much they can do about it standing in a pen). Most people will know this is because we have selected for friendlier animals, just like we've selected for cows that give more milk, hens that lay more eggs, dogs that are loyal and good at specific tasks etc. It's something that's been done for thousands of years and the observation that it is at all possible for animals to inherit from their parents a tendency to be nicer, bigger, of a specific colour etc. was one of the major observations supporting Darwin's theory of evolution ..

But it still doesn't explain why animals in the wild run away if they're intended to be our food .. Unless it is as you write; that God want us to be stimulated and have a little excercise. :p:

By your IRREFUTABLE LOGIC

i doubt that you don't eat meat. no single person on earth have not tasted even just one spoon of meat in their lifetime. that would be ridiculous.

yes it is God's intention that some animals are meant for human consumption that let us not forget, even animals have free will. either they want to pursue what's planned for them or not.
same as with mankind, God wanted us to eat those animals he cretaed for us but he also gave us the free will if we want it or not. if you don't want to be healthy, go ahead, skip on meat.

I asked earlier - what about all the poisonous creepy crawlies which are dangerous and hostile to us - did God create them to be our food as well? You wrote that no, they were created by humans. Could you elaborate on that? Who created them, when, where, how?

No, I don't eat meat. That's why I'm a vegetarian. I'm pretty sure that that was already covered. However, there are plenty of people who were vegetarians since they were small children, and they had vegetarian parents.

So are you really this ignorant or are you trolling

So, if someone is wanting to put on lean muscle mass, such a person might have a good argument for eating a fish that has washed up onto shore and thus died of natural causes! (I'm trying to relate our conversation to the original poster's question. )

However, I wonder whether the 40:40:20 rule truly *is* the best ratio of protein:carbohydrates:fat calories to eat to put on lean muscle mass. Do bodybuilders who eat beans and grains for protein actually *have* a harder time putting on lean muscle mass than meat-eating bodybuilders?
I suppose if they you had vegan bodybuilder (Y) and omnivore bodybuilder (A), and they had the same protein & calorie intake & exercise... yeah, they may be able to put on muscle at a similar rate.

I do know that protein dense, lean meat (tuna, chicken breast) does require the body to burn calories to process it. I don't know if a protein dense vegetarian meal would have the same effect. And, although people often say that beans & rice is a great source of protein, would the vegetarian have to use more variety of grains to have the same effects on the body?

not all animals are meant for human consumption. some are meant for human amusement.

yes i know what's a vegetarian. and no i'm not ignorant and i'm not trolling as well.
all i'm pointing out here is that sometimes, vegetarians tend to be vegetarians not because they love eating vegetables but because they disfavor animal slaughter for food. which i find senseless by the way. it's normal for an animal to be slaughtered and cooked so it will be made edible to a human. you don't expect humans to be like lions chasing pigs around then eat them raw. that would be called cannibalism.

hope i cleared your confused mind too Paloma

Um, that's not what cannibalism is, just FYI.

Anyways, yes vegetarians are making a conscious choice to not eat animals, and it is generally for the reason that they think animal slaughter is wrong. There are also vegetarians who used to be meat eaters. There's also people who don't eat meat for dietary reasons (too much cholesterol, fat, etc). Sure it is normal for humans to kill animals for food, that's how we've always eaten. But now there are so many varieties of food out there and people are allowed to choose which foods they want to eat. Just as you choose to eat meat, another person can choose not to eat meat. Not senseless at all, in my opinion.
