Yeah.......he's painted black in the picture.

And are you saying black people cannot have blue eyes and straight hair?

It doesn't look like it. It just looks they used kind of opaque paint that appears kind of dark when the light's on behind it. But even so, what's funny about him looking like he has darker skin than usual on that particular sign?

I am saying those are not features typically associated with black people. Blue eyes and the hairstyle depicted in the Big Boy logo scream "white" not "black".

Like if SNL does a skit where suddenly President Bush is black, that would be funny to some people.

It's not really like that at all. It's more like if the girl in the Wendy's logo appeared darker than usual on one sign. I just don't see the humor. Why is Big Boy with a tan funnier than Big Boy without a tan?

Also, still don't understand the connection you were making earlier between "white" and "all-American".

Big Boy's has been around since at least the 1940's. Back then it was teenage white kids going up there for fries and shakes and being clean-cut and all that old crap. Notice his hair cut-very 50's. All-american is typically thought of as baseball, apple pie, teenage white kids getting shakes.

Yes, I'm familiar with the chain. I wasn't aware it was created specifically as a place for white teenagers though.

I live in Toledo, OH currently and it is a primarily black population due to it being in the intercity. I find that for Toledo of all places for there to be a black big boy a bit ironic. We have the same sign back in my hometown and I will tell you that the Big Boy (in Toledo) is not the least bit white.
