I first ate scampi at my grandmother's wake. It gives me confusing feelings about the day. On the one hand I was sad my nan was dead. But on the other, I like scampi...

It's weird that I like it because I usually don't like seafood.

Seafood, in general, tastes just fine. EVERYTHING EXCEPT OYSTERS. Fucking oysters. That green shit in the middle tastes like stale mucous and battery acid. How do people eat that crap?

I have the most open-minded taste buds out of anyone I've ever met. I'd even eat armadillo if I had a chance. But I'm sorry... there has to be something wrong with people that think oysters taste pleasant. And I was born and raised in Louisiana... so that's saying something.

I agree with everything said here. Seafood rules. Particularly shrimp and crab legs, even moreso dipped in melted butter. My family goes to Red Lobster for birthdays and stuff like Fathers/Mothers day and my mom always gets scampi and never eats it all so I feast. Scampi rules.

They say you never forget your first, but I have forgotten my first encounter with scampi.

Well, I never had scampi at Red Lobster... only ate there once... and when I realized that their seafood tasted like salty rubber, I never went again. It's not just me, though... ask my fellow Louisianians... Red Lobster is an abomination of the seafood world. If you like their food, then you really need to take a trip down to Louisiana and eat some of ours.

I can speak for the entirety of southern Louisiana when I say, "we ain't fuckin' joking".

There are a lot of bars around here that all you can eat oysters night. I had them a couple of times. The thing I don't like is the green soupy thing in the lobster tail, I know that some people like to eat that stuff
