Why not add a certain sub-forum to the site that has an age restriction? I've seen it done in other forums, so why can't it be done here?

how on earth do you think age restrictions work? i am hoping you know that people can lie about their age on the internet. we don't exactly require identification or birth certificates to join the forums.

Love the condescending attitude.

It could help prevent some minors from entering the forums. Sure, people lie about their age all the time, but it would definitely help. Also, if any of the mods spot any comments coming from these theoretical minors could prevent them from entering the sub-forum if they did lie.

On the other side of that coin, people lie about their age all the time to access pornographic websites. Hell, you don't even have to lie to switch Google's safesearch off and type in "sex". I hardly think that deleting threads such as this one will shelter the young of the internet any further.
