What if you're realizing that the person is completely wrong for you?
You may even have fallen in love with someone else during this process...

What I'm saying is that a person should break the relationship off, before pursuing another. But it can't be cheating if you're subject to your own emotions. The things that make a strong relationship are not based on whimsical emotion.
Yeah, I know, it's hard to define. Where do you draw the line? If I think a person is in a relationship, and they fall out of love or fall into love with someone else, they should break the relationship off before pursuing another. It's only fair to the other person.

But then again, a fleeting crush on someone else is totally different to being in love with someone else. So would THAT be cheating? I don't know. I guess it's subjective and depends on the people involved.

The easiest way to define it is by both people involved in the relationship knowing exactly what each other's boundaries are, and respecting them. There doesn't have to be a guidebook stating it all out in black and white.. That wouldn't work for everyone.
The idea is that you get to know someone well enough to know whether you're crossing a line or not. If you don't know that, then you're in an understandably dangerous position.

Yeah that kinda logic is full of crap IMO.

First off, you can't help it when you fall in love or choose who you fall in love with.

I know it's a cliche as f*ck thing to say but it's true.

that saying should be changed to, you can't help who you become infatuated with and when.

falling in love happens over a longer period of time than simple lust or infatuation

Oh brotha I know the pain.
The other weekend I hooked up with a girl and I couldn't conclude. I was saluting hard, but I couldn't finish up. It was kind of depressing. I played "good boy" and told her I didn't need to, after my junk started getting tired.

It's like window-shopping and never actually buying anything because you don't have the money.
