I wanna know where you're getting those figures from.

Okay now I need someone who knows what they are talking about! Verdical Fiction, if that's you, please help: "Almost all wireless connections of whatever sort, include a firewall to block unsolicited incoming connections. For most things this is goodness but it blocks P2P. Usually there's nothing you can do about it except change to a different sort of connection, usually from a different ISP."

Okay, so I believe I'm connected to Internet through the Router on my step-dad's computer (not my moms). So, even if I somehow figure out which firewall he has on the computer (which I don't know how to tell), so I can get the instructions from Portforward to free the Bitcomet listen port on the Linksys Router WRT54G2 (which he has), and then follow said instructions and complete my task (when he gets home in an hour), will my wireless connection still block unsolicited incoming connections by itself, effectively keeping my downloads at 20kps - 60kps (where it has been averaging).

Slyck News - RIAA’s Grand Total: 10,037 - What are Your Odds?

There's an article about odds.

1 in every 3,679 users (apprx.) will be sued by RIAA. Damn, I hope I don't get sued.

That article does nothing to support your worries, mr. warasaurus.
But for what it's worth, that 1 to 600 billion figure you threw out there sure was hilarious.
