Haha, most important thing in the house; What's playing? :D
It's a great album indeed :)
Got to admit though, when the picture was made I was playing a tape with some Jazz.
Nashville skyline was before that :)

Great pics S_K and like your audio set up, you just need some good music to play on it now:laughing:

It's not comparable to the old one.

Your house is looking wonderful, s_k, and I loved the tour, accompanied partway by plaintively mewing Fritz!

It feels very homey. As you know, I love how your family and friends all helped to make your comfortable pad really suit you. The stairs your dad made turned out great. I noticed you appear to like small dabs of lime green and orange/red as color accents around the house. I love the chocolate-colored curtains in your living room. Cool Times Square poster, too! I'm still not a big fan of the green wall that you have in homage to your former girlfriend, but the big poster covers up a lot of it. :D

I also like seeing all your gear, such as the reel playing a song by the pschedelic rock band "The Wolf." You have everything wired to suit your needs. It all looks very organized, too, to me.

BTW, the type of paneling you like is what I'd call half paneling:

I myself like beadboarding, especially with natural wood on ceilings:

^ Ahh!

Thank you so much. A much, much better tour will be made when all is done. Will still take some time, though :)

The stairs aren't done yet. They still need one more layer of paint and a layer of laque (is that the way to say it?)

Haha, I'm not even doing this on purpose. I just buy what seems nice to me and indeed, I like subtle colours. The red cushions came from my mom but I decided they could stay. I like them too :)

Love the curtains too. I took them with me from my former house.
The Times Square poster is really cliché! You see those a lot here. I like them, though. I got it from a friend of mine. She wanted to put a Beatles poster on the wall and didn't know what to do with this poster. Took it with me. It's nice there.

Hahaha, homage :D. No, I just had the paint and it makes the room more peaceful somehow. But you have to see that in real life :)

Did I mention DeWolff or did you recognize it? :D.
It's not all wired as I want it to, but it's useable.

Got to say, I love my place :)

I think it's technically too high to be called half paneling. But this seemed nice to me :)

Haha ,the wood around my bed is actually from the ceiling of my friend Marc's parents' house. They modernised their house. I loved their ceiling so I used it in my new home :D

Allright, still working on my place but we're getting somewhere.
Still need to do some details, have got get a new couch but it's close to done on the inside, now. No vid, just pics:

That's the living room as seen from the living room door

http://stijnkraft.ebenau.net/huisje/rest/IMG_0863.jpg
Same room, with the camera pointed towards that door, standing next to my left speaker. :)
My studio is behind that sliding door.

And a picture made standing next to my right speaker

The studio, as seen from the door, camera pointed to the left

http://stijnkraft.ebenau.net/huisje/rest/IMG_0868.jpg
And to the right

http://stijnkraft.ebenau.net/huisje/rest/IMG_0870.jpg
That's the kitchen, which isn't done at all, yet. Not sure what I'm going to do to it, but this is not all.

http://stijnkraft.ebenau.net/huisje/rest/IMG_0874.jpg
The 'stair room', as you can see this isn't finished yet, either.
Have to rearrange the cabinet and put some stuff on top of it that's nice to look at.

Both the kitchen and the stair room look a lot tidier in real life, these rooms are rather narrow which makes them practically impossible to photograph.

http://stijnkraft.ebenau.net/huisje/rest/IMG_0880.jpg
The bedroom is an oddly shaped room as there's a flight of stairs in the middle of it. The door you see on this picture leads to the stairs. On the right of the door is a walk in closet. Next to that is the old fashioned looking bit of wall.

http://stijnkraft.ebenau.net/huisje/rest/IMG_0878.jpg
This is what you see when you're standing with your back against that wall. Behind the red curtain is storage space.

http://stijnkraft.ebenau.net/huisje/rest/IMG_0879.jpg
My bad. The door on the right is once more the door to the stairs.
The bit of door you see on the left is the door that leads to my attic.

Get it? :D

I'm waiting on putting any pictures on the walls until I get most of the new furniture set in place.

It's been 10 months since the fire. Getting back to where it finally feels like I have a home again.

Mindfulness 08-05-2022 11:04 AM

plankton's place looks nice! Those speakers look loud. Very organized too.

Plankton 08-05-2022 11:24 AM

Thanks Mindy.

Those are remnants from bands and DJ'ing. It's pretty dang loud.

Plankton 08-05-2022 01:39 PM

Fer fixin mowers n such while watching Goose. lol It's nice to have all this space.

It's heated/insulated and the garage door/opener is less than a year old. It was a big selling point for me.

Is that a freakin house? Yours or rental? Are you rich? Looks amazing, congrats!

3-Story Townhouse
Mine
No
Thanks :)

music_collector 08-05-2022 06:11 PM

Nice place Plank.

I live in a two storey townhouse. It's overrun by dolls, hot wheels and women's clothes (wife is a shopaholic). I'm enjoying the new air conditioner put in yesterday.

I don't have a man cave. I have a small office, which isn't a bad substitute.

Bears, eh? I have cheese heads in the basement. I do like those superfans skits on SNL though.

Plankton 08-05-2022 06:37 PM

I remember being overrun by Polly Pockets. lol

Sweet on the new ac, we just had new roofing and gutters installed.

music_collector 08-05-2022 07:01 PM

It's the second thing we replace in six months. Earlier this year, we removed the hot water tank and put in a tankless water heater. So nice. Last week, while out at a cabin, my wife took all the hot water for her steam bath, I mean shower. I was not used to that at all. I skipped my shower and jumped in the lake instead.

music_collector 08-05-2022 09:40 PM

I'd also like to point out how crazy prices have gone up for home repairs. The AC we bought likely would have cost just over half pre pandemic.

It appears as though we might need to repave the driveway soon. Bell is in the neighbourhood laying down fibre. Our driveway was paved six years ago. It was in great shape, until now. They cut a 75cm square hole at the foot of the driveway. They filled it will crushed gravel first, then put in a little asphalt. After the first freeze/thaw cycle, the foot of the driveway will be f***ed. They still have to dig a 10cm trench along the length of the driveway.

I'm all for progress, especially with technology. I'm against it being done half assed.

Things I am jealous of in Plankton's house:

● the pane windows (especially the one above the front door)
● stairs leading from front door right into livingroom
● the very comfortable-looking couch and chair/ottoman
● everything in pristine condition
● kitchen flooring (leading into adjoining room)
● kitchen island (always wanted one of those)
● plenty of kitchen cabinets
● nice big cutting board, btw
● music studio upstairs (!)
● guitars, basses, mandolin, dobro, ukes, bongos
● amps/speakers to blast music in garage

How great is it that something terrible just 10 months ago turned into something wonderful. :)

The housing market sucks too. Everything gets snatched up so quick, you have to bid over asking in order to even be considered.

Aww, thanks ribs. Yes, definitely some positives that came from the ashes of that tragedy.

That couch was a lucky find from a friend of a friend who bought it and it didn't fit their space, so I got it at a steal of a price. It's really comfortable for leather, which I've always stayed away from. That butcher block is a John Boos, btw.

We're just getting started though. I still need quite a few pieces of furniture, so for the big stuff I'll buy new unless I get lucky find something like that couch, but for a lot of other things I'll hit up the resale shops and garage sales. I went to 12 g-sales last weekend and I'll be hitting quite a few more today.

Carpe Mortem 08-06-2022 06:22 AM

Nice digs Planksir. I'm sorry to hear about the fire. That garage is definitely a huge selling point though. My aunt converted hers to basically a detached hang out space (AC & heat), and these days I can't fathom wasting that space for anything else if you have the option.

Plankton 08-06-2022 06:43 AM

Heck yeah, thanks Carpe. I've always been a hanging out in the garage type person, from way back when I was a kid helping my Dad with his projects. I have his urn and whats left of his ashes in my toolbox, so he's right at home there with me. :)

The previous owner installed a gas heater with a direct line and a Thermacore door, so it's gonna be nice and cozy when winter comes.

Carpe Mortem 08-06-2022 06:48 AM

That sounds very charming!

Oh, the tankless water heater is worth every penny. I believe my wife was Finnish in a past life, always trying to replicate a sauna in the shower.

It's magical in there. It'll be even more magical when I get a bucket.

The games on Fox as well.
