they go hand in hand that's why

Foreigners tend to think America is uber violent and they think that's a result of how lax gun laws are.

this is amongst one of the reasons why America is hated , yes there are many more but how can you not see that this discussion is on topic?

I just did a search for that one, i do not have a photobucket. But I am guessing so.

I just commented on it because the picture doesn't show up. Says bandwidth exceeded. I figure whoever uploads photos on that site would think to use a service that doesn't have a limit.

Because when I start to see people talking about gangsters using throwing stars and arguing over the long range/short range effect of guns of knives (which seemed pretty obvious to me), I tend to think it's getting off topic. Especially when there is about five pages of it...

oh, it is Micheal Jackson eatting popcorn and grinning while watching the movie in the "Thriller" video.

I'm pretty sure I never claimed it would end all attempted murders. I do think it would take things down a notch or two though.

Let me give you an example of what I'm talking about: Last weekend here in Philly a guy got thrown out of a bar for smoking. He was apparently so pissed off that he came back with a gun and fired through the open front door of the bar a bunch of times, shooting six people. He then ran away, I'm not sure if they've caught him yet or not. Imagine that same scenario with a knife instead a gun. I really doubt six people would've been stabbed and I think it's fairly unlikely he would've even been able to run away.

yeah the whole gangsters using throwing stars only came up for a post or two as comic relief it wasn't the basis for the whole discussion

I'm pretty sure if the guy was drunk being in a bar, he'd probably attempt to throw a maltov cocktail into the bar or even attempt to go in there with a knife if guns weren't available. He's drunk and his judgement is clouded.

the cocktail probably wouldn't even enter into his mind because that would be too much of a smart thing to do while he's drunk.

This sounds suspiciously like you missed my point.

your point is that you think if guns weren't so readily available then he wouldn't be able to have shot six people in a bar.

I did get your point that it would cut down on the numbers a bit but I stated what I did up there to showcase the fact that if the person has intent to do harm they will regardless of their method

LOL um what? You ought to try making sense once in a while DJ causing your arguing skills are pretty rudimentary.

First of all, I don't see how the drunkenness has anything to do with it. Not to mention you completely contradict yourself by first saying that if guns were outlawed he'd just use a molotov cocktail (lol a molotov cocktail? how about an atomic bomb while we're using hypotheticals). Then you say he probably wouldn't of even thought of using cocktails because he was too drunk. So, basically if guns were made illegal he wouldn't have been able to shoot up that bar and, according to you, he would've been too drunk to think of using a molotov cocktail. Where's the negative here? Taking on a bar full of people with a knife isn't quite as easy to do as using a gun. Plus you can't "fire" a knife through the door of a bar like you can with a gun.

Not to mention, I'm pretty sure a gun would win out agaisnt a knife, close or long range.
