Size Rise

I've noticed on reddit there is some major hate on a big girl posing naked. Are you guys as callus towards big girls?

Defined as size 16 and up.

Frownland 04-05-2012 10:16 PM

Define big. Obese: I wouldn't have sex with one personally, but I wouldn't hold it against someone if they did. Overweight but not obese: maybe....

midnight rain 04-05-2012 10:18 PM

Being honest, I don't typically find them attractive because overweight often signifies unhealthy. That said, I wouldn't hold it against them and to ridicule them is pretty low. Lots of overweight women have low enough self esteems as it is.

Exo 04-06-2012 12:25 AM

That's because most people on reddit are gorillas.

Arya Stark 04-06-2012 02:16 AM

**** you guys, I'm sexy as hell.

GuitarBizarre 04-06-2012 06:30 AM

I'm far more attracted to skinny women than plump women. Political correctness can suck a dick in that regard, I'm sick of hearing about "real" women having curves, since all too often (read: nearly always) its more a case of overweight women who aren't happy about their weight, trying to justify themselves, rather than women who are genuinely happy about their figure trying to make that clear.

On the other hand, I'm not an idiotic douchebag, so I'm not going to tell someone of any reasonable weight to go and lose some weight unless there's either a good reason to or I know them really well and know it wouldn't be a totally out of line thing to say.

Howard the Duck 04-06-2012 07:06 AM

i find overweight women attractive

but i think it boils down to the features

some can be overweight yet their features doesn't complement their size and vice versa, and are usually turn-offs

while others, while being fat, are sexy and attractive merely because their size actually heightens the aesthetics of their face

it's kinda hard to describe, but if an overweight woman is attractive to me, then she is

There is a tremendous difference between calling a random woman a disgusting fatty and calling a woman who does nude modeling a disgusting fatty.

crash_override 04-06-2012 08:46 AM

There's a difference between curvy and lumpy. Sometimes you just need to put it away...

On the other hand, there are some girls that can carry a little extra and still look pretty damn good.

EDIT: Key word there being A LITTLE. That doesn't mean go put on 350 and go around telling people you's is sexy.

Really? I'd like to know that difference. An insult is an insult if you ask me, you may not like fat models but there is a group that they appeal to, that's why they exist.

The difference is, by modeling, they're putting themselves out in the public eye, they're inviting us to judge.

As far as the issue that some people like it; and? (edit: to use an analogy: ) Am I to not criticize particular bands on this forum just because some people like it?

It's still an insult, why not call them unattractive? I don't think you need to be reminded about eating disorders.

Criticizing a particular band isn't a good analogy, it's not personal. Just like criticizing one's argument is fair game, but criticizing a person's character is usually frowned upon.

FETCHER. 04-06-2012 09:45 AM

I'm sorry but as someone who wears clothes UK 14-16 I'm finding some of the answers here insulting. I'm not fat. Also Hip Hop Bunny Hops arguments are invalid, you all should have learned that by now.

Howard the Duck 04-06-2012 09:46 AM

i've dated women who wears size 20

i didn''t complain

their sexual appetite are usually higher also, for some reason

Vanilla specified the size after I gave my answer. You're also like 5'11 or something I think so the size doesn't apply so much.
I was talking about overweight women in general, not any particular size.

Rule of thumb: if they weigh more than I do, I'm probably not interested.

hip hop bunny hop 04-06-2012 09:50 AM

Criticizing a persons character in the midst of an argument is known as an ad hominem attack. This is frowned upon because it's a logical fallacy employed in the midst of an argument to distract from the issue at hand.

Criticizing disgusting fatty models is akin to ****ty criticizing bands, because (1) both are putting themselves out there asking to be judged, and (2) it takes a lot of time & effort to get to that point.

If some models don't want to be called a disgusting fatty, they have a few options: (1) stop modelling, (2) lose weight. Boom.

Clothing sizes are vastly different between the UK and over here. I think we're talking about 18+ UK, 12+ NA.

I understand what you're saying. Just because a situation doesn't logically call for a little empathy, doesn't mean you shouldn't watch your tongue.

You're fully within your rights to do so, this is clearly a situation of differing morals.

Rubato 04-06-2012 11:12 AM

The rabbit has a point, it is upsetting to be criticized over your body, but if you choose to model it will come with the territory. Modelling is by definition a very vain world, it's not about setting a standard or trying to look "realistic", If people are aiming to have the body of a goddess/god, then criticism is very much needed to push people to that goal, it can of course go horribly wrong when those criticizing have a very warped perspective over what is considered beautiful or healthy but they themselves are also subject to criticism. There are numerous BBW models considered sexy, if a model was considered disgusting just because she's a certain size then yes I'd find that criticism to be ridiculous, if the model lacks the body type to have at least an even distribution of fat then chances are people won't find her attractive enough to be a model.

In this particular case (being the internet and all) is it really a case of criticism or is it abuse?

Urban Hat€monger ? 04-06-2012 01:19 PM

I don't really care one way or another. I like a bit of variety.

I've met some totally gorgeous women that would be considered 'Fat' by some.

The Fascinating Turnip 04-06-2012 02:23 PM

I'm not a fan of exoskeletal bitches, I find them almost as repulsive as someone who is morbidly obese. That said, I think everyone should try and make an effort not to become one thing or the other, but you know. I'm not saying being overweight makes it impossible for you to be beautiful, though. I've seen really overweight women with beautiful faces - I just don't think they're very attractive. No, I don't think Beth Ditto is beautiful.

Paedantic Basterd 04-06-2012 02:26 PM

Beth Ditto's a bad example. I think she puts more effort into pushing boundaries of taste than into fulfilling other peoples' ideas of what's acceptable.

As for the original question, I think big girls can definitely be attractive. I don't really mind chubby. There's a definite line that can be crossed though.
