My username is a play on my actual name; my husband dubbed me katsy.

And my husband is kick-ass. He has introduced me to Alice Cooper, Black Sabbath, The Misfits, I could go on...

Admittedly, he hates most of my music. But that's ok, he still endures shows by bands he can't stand with me. He's the best:)

Wow that is interesting. You and your husband are so different musically.

Syrith 10-19-2012 04:04 AM

It's a name I came up with for a fantasy world my friend and I wrote about in middle school and high school.

It has caused problems-- especially on long road trips. We both get so bent out of shape when the other refuses to see the greatness we may hear in something. We grew up in different decades, so it's only natural.

However, we have learned to compromise. I will listen to Alice Cooper; he will listen to Blind Pilot.

Trollheart 10-19-2012 10:58 AM

Sounds like he should be on here too, katsy. Could be some interesting debates! :)

My boyfriend has some different tastes in music than I do too but I'm glad he introduced me to things he likes to listen to, even if I don't like all of it. He doesn't really care about that though. And we grew up in different countries so there was some stuff that he never really heard before he moved here as well.

I told him he should. He is way more articulate than I, and he is pretty damn knowledgeable about the music he loves.

Let's just say he would be a very productive, contributing member.

Morphinelle 11-24-2012 07:44 PM

When I returned to Bristol to visit my grandparents I had a meeting with some old friends, one of them had been taking some heroin and invited us to use some, he worked at a drugstore and had stolen many morphine shots saying they had the same effect. So I took them, and it was the bomb, I have no idea how much I injected myself, but the next morning was awfull, both of my arms were numb with many needle marks, and some dependence symptoms appeared in the next days. My friend and I realized what we were doing and commited to help each oher for recovery in the two months I was staying there. That must have been about two years ago, and we completely cleaned ourselves. We started dating in March, and he calls me 'miss morphine' or 'morphinelle' in private as a remember of what we have gone through.

Burning Down 11-25-2012 07:51 AM

So they sell morphine in pharmacies over there? Woah. They don't do that here. You have to get a prescription and they only give that to you as a last resort.

How is it pronounced - is it "God Stone" or "God's Tone?"

Why is this in brackets and quotes?

Luckyme 01-16-2013 06:56 AM

"Ah, the question of one's username." Lucky smiles and thinks on hers. "Isn't one just lucky to be?" she asks the humans. She is just as lucky and thought it appropriate to use. "Just to remind you though. For it could easily be Luckyyou."

Burning Down 01-16-2013 08:49 AM

I think you're trolling.

P A N 01-16-2013 11:50 AM

what a neat thread to read through.

mine is from when i first started using FL Studio (then "frootyloops"). i had it installed on my moms computer when i was 15 or 16 and had a folder for vocal files called "ZVOX". "z" for zach, cuz that's my name, VOX for vocals, cuz that's kinda standard. when i went to put some of the music i had created on myspace i needed an alias and i wanted it to be a word that didn't exist so when i told people how to find it they wouldn't encounter any confusion. i actually spent a couple weeks waiting for the right word to occur to me and it was right under my nose the whole time. i went with a more phonetic version of it, and i find it more aesthetically pleasing with that 'k' sticking up... i avoid capitalizing the 'z' at all costs. if i am forced to i will usually choose something different and then forget my username on that site or whatever, and lose interest.

i've been using this same alias ever since and no one has copied or used it. i am tiring of it though.

You and fleamailman should hook up. I'd be curious as to how that conversation would go.

Anyway, as for my username its the obvious. I listen to the blues mostly and when I saw my avatar pic thought it fit perfectly for a name.

misspoptart 01-21-2013 07:47 AM

Well, I think poptart suits me for a buncha reasons.

1. I love poptarts, especially if they have marshmallow.
2. I love pop things. Pop culture, pop music, pop everything.
3. I like it when people affectionately address each other with poptart as a pet name. (ex. Relax, poptart. Be free, little poptart. Cheer up, poptart).
4. It's a bit oxymoronic -- tart suggests a sort of bite or sharpness to something otherwise sweet and nice. :)

And why "miss"? Because I'm a young lady, that's why! ^^;;

Yac 01-22-2013 07:06 AM

I inherited mine after a guy that used to do my job 6 or so years ago :D I decided not to change it as this way I doubt anyone will figure out who I am unless I let them, and with the amount of crazy people i banned, not having my fb and email hacked seemed like a good idea ;)
Yac.

Was thinking the same thing, although it could end up being a bit schizophrenic.

The Batlord 01-22-2013 02:34 PM

Fleamailman's username reminds me of a time I was in tenth grade English class. I was talking to the teacher in class and I asked him, "Wait, what's that man? Who delivers the mail?", and he responded, "You mean a...mail man?"

Janszoon 01-22-2013 02:38 PM

Fleamailman: delivers the mail, plays bass really well.

butthead aka 216 07-10-2013 09:34 PM

i thought of a number and then typed it into the box asking for a username
