Any recommendations? Looking to try some great whites that are not overtly sweet and some reds that don't taint my mouth with a lingering taste..
Favorites..
White: Pinot, Orvieto
Red: Syrah..

two thumbs up my friend ....i love that movie

first and most importantly

how much are you willing to spend on a bottle?

i'm much more of a beer kind of guy....but i've been in a few relationships with women who enjoy fine wine and cheese....as well as my mom whom is a bit of a wine snob....so i've picked up a few pointers in the years

as for white....believe it or not....in my opinion the best dry white wine is actually a Riesling....which is odd since the Riesling grape is most known for sweet almost desert wines....but its actually the only wine grape that can actually produce wines on both sides of the spectrum.....and when you get a dry one it is fucking amazing

if you go to a wine shop just explain to them that you want a "dry" Riesling....they tend to be a bit more....the cheapest one i have found was a 2009 French Riesling that ran about $30....but it was worth every penny....amazing wine
a pic

as for reds....in my opinion some of the best reds on the market are actually table wines (which really only means that is does not meet the European standard of a tradition blend)...and more specifically California Tables are almost all very affordable and very good....usually ending with a nice refreshing dry finish....try Menage A Trois

usually runs about $10-$15 and is very well made

Whaaat....I did not know Riesling could be anything but sweet. Dope. I'm trying to acquire a taste for dry whites but...gradually ha ha.
As for Menage a trois I've seen that around.

Price point.. I would say under $75

well if you're willing to spend up to $75 you are very much in a good place

i suggest going to a wine shop and talking with their expert about exactly what you are looking for.....most of these turkeys really know their stuff

and i highly suggest searching out a dry Riesling....they are amazing

I love wine. But I never remember the names of the wine I drink, only the price.

Thanks for the suggestion!!..
Sometimes I feel like I'm anti-social given that every time I think of being at the few good wine shops where I stay, I picture myself bashing my face on the counter after their 5th suggestion of a horrendously priced sugar filled bottle.. But I will venture off and give it another go.

seriously most of these people are pretty snobby but almost always get excited when given a chance to show off their knowledge

just tell them you starting to get into better wines and exactly what you want....they should be pretty informative

let us know what you find
