Yes, which is surprising to be honest. I have bought new laptops since then, but none of them worked as well/smooth as this one, so I went back to the one I'm using now and sold the others off. With the newer laptops, I didn't see any improvement in processing speed -- for me that means browsing the Internet and YouTube, not gaming -- even though they had better specs. Eventually it will get to the point where I will be forced to upgrade, but the advancements in the operating system (I'm using Windows 7) have yet to make my computer obsolete.

I bought a new laptop last year, and it was a 100% improvement over my old one. Then again, though, my old one was running on 4 gigs of RAM, whereas this one is running on 8. Windows 8 is what it is, not bad, not good in my opinion. But when I buy another one, I'm seriously considering going with Apple.

For me it was the newer touch pad technologies that were barely receptive to touch and they combine the left/right clicks in one. Wheras with this one, it's butter smooth and there is separation of the buttons. A few other quirks like that, combined with the fact that speed improvements are negligeable for my use. Mine is one of those HP Media computers, so that's probably why it can still handle the Internet as it currently exists.

Haven't used 8. I have the automatic update for Windows 10 sitting in my icon tray, but I haven't used it.

I actually game on mine a little (shocker, I know), and for what I use it for, it handles it just fine. I have the Windows 10 updater but I haven't felt like taking my lappy out of commission until it updates for however long it updates for. Mostly because I'm too lazy to let it run through and such. Thoughts on Apple?

Well, I hate locked systems of any kind, and i hate iTunes. Software is clunky as can be. I've never used a Mac, though, so I can't say with certainty as far as hardware goes or the operating system. I hear that they're better for media editing and so forth, but I'm a Google/Android kind of guy. Just my preference.

Tfw you stare forward so long that everything in front of you blends and flattens and next thing you know you're on your back looking up at a sky made out of styrofoam. Then you blink and lose it, it's just trees.

TFW you have a creative writing homework assignment, but you get writer's block so you pull a Hemingway and get drunk but at the end of your run on sentence you pass out and end up missing your deadline.

At least I go to class sober. Well, not sober exactly, I just don't go to class drunk. Everything else I can handle.

DwnWthVwls 09-16-2015 01:26 PM

Yeh I used to do that.. Drove to college with a 2 liter filled with water and an ice tea pitcher. Set up my gravity bong in the back of my jeep to use before my classes.

Now I'm sober all the time. :-/
