I'll take good white bread. But it has to be home-baked or otherwise made decently.

It's similar to Marmite but much better (in my opinion, though I like Marmite too). The first time I had it it was in drink form, I tried it on toast after expecting it to be **** but it was very good. But yeah works a lot better with brown/wholemeal bread.

Yeah the whole wheat/brown pasta is just terrible in all pasta dishes.

As for bread, I don't really care. White is good and so is the whole wheat stuff. I also like 12 grain, flax seed, and rye bread.

"Brown" bread as in wholemeal? Yuck. I'll take multi-grain and pumpkin seed any day.

I'm pretty sure brown bread just meaning any variation of wheat.

I see. Don't think I've heard it being called "brown" bread here. Just white, wholemeal, multi-grain and rye mainly.

Yeah I think the term "brown bread" is mostly an American thing, but it means whole wheat/whole grain here.

Actually it seems to be a European thing because Briks started up the thread and he's not from America.

Most people here say wheat/whole grain as well.

Or maybe it's just Briks himself that calls it brown bread. No need to slander whole groups of people.

Okay, interesting! I had never really heard the term brown bread before now either.

Yeah, multigrain bread here can be a bit different though, in terms of variety. It can be more than several refined grains instead of whole grains.
