Darn it...my picture from my earlier post didn't show up! I'll find some others.

Since you're from Kentucky, doesn't it look like this? It doesn't look so bad to me!

Although further searching shows me what ASHLAND looks like:

But look! You've got Mounds. That's exciting! Eh? Eh?

And apparently you've got this guy in Ashland, too.

AK Steel (the horrible steel plant) is actually in Russell, KY - but Russell is a smaller city, so it gets lumped in with Ashland.

I'm not even quite sure where the mounds are located, to be honest. I think they're in south Ashland - somewhere I typically am not to be found.

And yes, the "duct tape bandit" was from here, but fortunately, the majority of locals aren't that stupid.

The parts of Ashland I'm more accustomed to seeing are:

Near the edge of our park:

Downtown, the only real "urban-ish" part of the area:

The interior of the theatre I'm currently performing in:

It's not great, but it's not total **** either. I've been to far worse places.

Those daily views of yours don't look too bad, and the theater is quite stunning, I feel! Are you in a play or performing music?

And what was up with the duct tape bandit? There are a lot of Internet pictures of him, so he seems quite famous/infamous! Ahhh...I just read about it. The duct tape was part of his disguise during a robbery in which he got...some coins. People with devious intent + duct tape = trouble.

Ha ha! And here's a funny video about him! Poor guy.

Thanks, re: the theatre! It's probably my favorite place in the city, and I'm doing a play there currently. That's actually a set-up of the stage making it look a bit smaller than it actually is; the stage itself is full-size and can accommodate Broadway tours and such. Very lovely place!

And yes - Duct Tape Bandit was this dude, Kasey Kazee. He'd never been known for his intelligence, but the duct tape disguise and his subsequent denial that he was the perp even after being apprehended and having the duct tape removed from his face by authorities certainly dropped his IQ even further.

Unfortuntely, most I gathered in Kentucky was:

And:

Although I agree that some of the nature down there is pretty nice. Especially this time of year.

Jealous.
When Sonic Youth are the worst group there it really shows the strength of the evening.
